En fjord i tre ulike stadier, vil du se? Tråd, ja. Fra beryktede Viksfjorden, Larvik, Ytre Oslofjord, i dag. 1. Litt friskt, fint sjøgress på enkelte plasser. Dette er kystsonens "regnskog". Kan huse et mangfold av store og små dyr.

Oppdrett slipper ut like mye fosfor og nitrogen langs norskekysten som 40–60 millioner mennesker. I mange fjorder er det den største utslippskilden. Men kun kommunale avløp, altså deg og meg, blir pålagt dyre rensekrav. Er det riktig? Kommunal Rapport løfter nå dette i en artikkelserie. Her første:

For those interested in the evolution of phenotypic plasticity - Shen Tian et al. found that a novel bit of DNA - a Hox gene promoter in the genome of satyrid butterflies - boosts plasticity in the size of their eyespots in response to temperature. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
