I’m working on a new pen plotting process. I’ve created some custom software that allows me to clip an SVG along a boundary within an image. The first two images use a hexagonal pattern to form the outline of a leaf. The last, a work in progress, is the same leaf pattern inverted. #penplotter

Emergent complexity sounds intimidating. However, when you break it down, the concept is much easier to grasp. This step-by-step guide walks you through the process of creating emergent complexity with code. #penplotter #algorithmicart #art #genuary penplotter.art/p/algorithmi...

penplotter.art#005: Algorithmic Art Tutorial: How to Create Emergent ComplexityLearn how to create mesmerizing algorithmic art by combining concentric circles and Perlin noise, bridging digital creativity with physical plotting techniques.

Dropping a tutorial in this week’s newsletter showing you how to replicate this design 🔥 #penplotter #algorithmicart #genuary

Smooth flow fields I’ll be dropping a tutorial soon (it’s easier than you think). Sign up for the newsletter to grab it when it drops 🔥 #penplotter #genuary #algoart #art

Experimenting with hexagonal grids. Unfortunately the nib is too wide on this piece and doesn’t adequately show the noise distortion. #penplotter #genuary #art

Time to get back to it 🎉 I took a 10-month break from plotting after my third was born, but I’m recharged and ready to start creating again. #genuary #penplotter #art

Should you delay this decision until you have more data? Only if: 1. You can get more data 𝘢𝘯𝘥 2. Analysis will be accurate 𝘢𝘯𝘥 3. It will change the decision 𝘢𝘯𝘥 4. It will correctly predict the future.

We’ve stripped serendipity from the modern world. We’ve constructed silos of mirrors. Eject yourself. Pause in the awkward pleasure of discomfort and reawaken to the unknown.

Locked and loaded for my first time participating in the plotter postcard exchange. Haven’t had a chance to create anything new since last winter so these oldies will have to do 😅 #ptpx #penplotter #plotparty

It's all happening for us train enthusiasts (or is it just me?) as today marks 200 years since the Stockton and Darlington Railway opened in 1825 - the birth of the modern railway. So here are some of the many railway linocuts I have done over the years - too many, I hear you say? Surely not… 😂

People thought organic search traffic would plummet because of AI Search. And overall search traffic is down. BUT the quality of traffic (based on conversions and engagement) is actually better when it originates from AI Search. So how do you get your content to appear in AI Search results?

LLMs don't index the internet the way search engines do. Because of this, they rely on SERPs to do the heavy lifting of ranking content. LLMs create a variety of "search phrases" based on what the user is researching. They then use these phrases to build context to answer the user's prompt.

I'm building a tool that helps you identify potential AI "search phrases" based on a user's query. By targeting these phrases, you can increase the likelihood of showing up in AI search results. You can give it a try without creating an account: keywordcanvas.ai

There's still a lot of debate as to exactly how AI Search chooses which results to show. But, these points are clear: 1. Good SEO = Good AIO (AI search optimization) 2. Higher page rank = More likely to be cite in AI search results 3. AI Search uses a technique called query fan-out (QFO)

Building an AI tool? Think in terms of persona workflows, not prompts. You’ll create far more value. #buildinpublic

You can compete on any dimension you want: design, service, tech architecture, special feature, brand voice, and yes even price. It needs to be at the intersection of “what enough customers truly value” and “what you can actually deliver on 2x-10x better than the rest.”

Working on proceduralizing common patterns into reusable tools. Most of my pieces have been composed with messy code. Consolidating into tools will unlock a whole new level of controlled complexity. This is one of the interference patterns I’m working on. #penplotter #genart
