From 1914 to 1920, Canada unjustly interned 8,500 Ukrainians and other Europeans in 24 camps. This weekend, I attended the unveiling of an exhibit at The Military Museums. Thank you to the Ukrainian Canadian Civil Liberties Foundation for preserving this history.

Congratulations to Chondra Fox of the Kainai Nation on being crowned the 2027 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess! You have an incredible opportunity to share your culture and inspire the next generation. Calgary is proud to celebrate you and our Treaty 7 Nations!

Great to visit Kensington Halloween Village's Treat Accessibility event this weekend! This citizen-led effort helps hundreds of kids with disabilities enjoy trick-or-treating. Thanks to PARKER PR, Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association and all the sponsors who made it happen!

We can fix Calgary's failing infrastructure today -- or pay a much bigger bill tomorrow. We need to make tough choices and get back to basics. Join me tonight from 6 to 8pm at east end and west end budget town halls with Councillors John Pantazopolous and Harrison Clark!

Looking back on Orange Shirt Day at the confluence of Calgary’s two rivers. We gathered to honour the children who never came home from residential schools. We stood with Survivors and Indigenous families whose lives continue to be shaped by this painful history.

We honour our country by facing our history with honesty and taking responsibility for building a better future. I am proud to be Canadian. I believe in a country that learns from its mistakes and works to make things right. Truth and Reconciliation is a responsibility we all share.

A strong and confident country has the courage to confront the darkest chapters of its past. We should never shy away from the truth. Acknowledging injustice does not make Canada weaker. It makes us stronger.

Calgary, we're about to land the plane! Starting November 4, we need to come together again to save water for four weeks as we complete the Bearspaw South Feeder Main. We've come so far together. One last push, Calgary! Let's finish strong and build a more reliable water system.

Positive meetings this week with Premier Smith and Municipal Affairs Minister Dan Williams. We agreed to work together on Calgary's immediate priorities, including affordability, infrastructure, and public safety. Thank you both for the constructive conversations!

Calgary, what are your views on large AI data centres? In the coming weeks, City Council will begin discussing rules for future large-scale data centre applications. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the opportunities, concerns and what we should consider as we move forward.

Great work by Calgary Police! One of the largest drug seizures in CPS history has taken more than $8.8 million in drugs and cash out of circulation. Four people have been charged following a major investigation. Thank you to our officers and law enforcement partners!

Great to join Calgary business leaders for a fireside chat with Deborah Yedlin at the Calgary Real Estate Forum. There's strong momentum and optimism about our future. As we grow toward two million people, have an incredible opportunity to attract investment and create jobs as a great Canadian city.

ICYMI: Calgary is leading Canada! We recently signed a first-in-Canada agreement with the Nonprofit Chamber to build a stronger partnership with our social sector. We're building stronger partnerships to grow our economy and get better results for Calgarians.

We're starting interviews today for Calgary's next City Manager. We're looking for a strong leader and communicator who will work with our nearly 20,000 City employees to deliver better services and value for your tax dollars. Thanks to Cllrs. Yule and Wyness for leading the search!

Construction begins on Walden Fire Station and Library The Walden Fire Station and Library will be Calgary's first combined fire station and public library, bringing together two important community services in one location.

Building on a long-standing partnership between Calgary Fire and Calgary Public Library, the facility will support fast and reliable emergency services while providing a welcoming place to read, learn and gather for residents of Walden, Legacy, Chaparral, Wolf Willow and surrounding communities.

Credit to Premier Smith for her clear commitment. Albertans have spoken. Our future is in Canada. Now it's time to come together, respect the result, and get back to building the strongest province in the best country in the world.

I had the honour recently to participate in the opening of the Veterans Walkway along Memorial Drive. The walkway presents our military history and the men and woman who sacrificed so much.

I was proud to proclaim October 17–23 as Catholic Education Week. Throughout the year, we celebrate all major faiths and traditions in Calgary, including recognitions and events at City Hall. Whatever your faith or beliefs, all are welcome here.

Last week the City of Calgary comms department told me The Sprawl puts in "big asks" to their department. I like that. BIG-ASK JOURNALISM. It has a nice ring to it. May use in a future crowdfunding campaign

Today, Calgary Police released their review of the search for 11-year-old Parker. Our officers, search teams, and volunteers showed extraordinary dedication and compassion. Now we must build on their work with stronger systems and better tools. We owe that to Parker and his family.

Calgary is showing Canada what's possible! We're on track to finish 4 years of water main construction in just 11 months. One final round of water restrictions starts November 4 for about 4 weeks as we connect the new pipe. We're almost there, Calgary. Let's finish the job!

Were you on either bus involved in last week's tragic crash? Police need to hear from you. We know it was chaotic and frightening. If you left without speaking to police, you're not in trouble. Even small details might help families get answers. Please call 403-428-4000.

Starting today and until further notice, flags at Calgary City Hall and across our city will fly at half-mast in honour of those killed in the tragedy at CFB Wainwright. We mourn alongside their families, their fellow service members, and all Canadians. Calgary stands with our Armed Forces.

I had an absolute blast at the Little Red Reading House in Inglewood with my friend, and Ward 9 Councillor, Harrison Clark. I recommend curling up with a good book in the Gruffalo inspired nook. If you ever get the chance to visit, see if you can spot a new picture on their wall!

Proud to celebrate 30 years of Almadina Language Charter Academy and the naming of its Moe Amery Campus! A fitting tribute to a trailblazer who helped build a stronger, more welcoming Calgary. Congratulations to the Amery family and entire school community.

What a kickoff for Rocky Ridge Athletic Park! Two new Class A sports fields, lighting, washrooms and more. A big investment in sports and recreation for Calgary! Thank you to Councillor Tyers and the Calgary Minor Soccer Association for your advocacy and leadership!

Canada is mourning a terrible tragedy at CFB Wainwright. Our soldiers put their lives on the line in service to our country, and to lose them here at home is devastating. My heart is with the families grieving unimaginable losses, those fighting for their lives, and the entire CAF community.

To the firefighters, paramedics, and first responders who rushed into danger to save lives, thank you. Our Armed Forces have always answered Canada's call. Now we must answer theirs. Calgary stands shoulder to shoulder with Wainwright, and we are ready to provide whatever support is needed.

Calgary is building momentum in Canada's defence and aerospace industries! I recently joined SAIT to unveil plans for the Bissett Autonomous Aviation Park, advancing autonomous aircraft technology. Made possible by a $30 million gift from philanthropist David Bissett. Thank you!

Update on yesterday’s tragic Calgary Transit crash: Three passengers died, 16 people suffered minor injuries, and a bus driver sustained life-altering injuries. Police are investigating the cause. My heart is with the families, the injured, and our first responders.

I had the honour of introducing Prime Minister Carney at tonight’s Forever Canadian rally in Calgary. But my heart was with the victims of the tragic bus crash in northeast Calgary, their loved ones, and the first responders. Our entire city stands with you in grief.

I'm heartbroken by the tragic collision involving two Calgary Transit buses near Saddletowne Station. Three people have died and ten are injured, including a Calgary Police Service member who attended on scene. My deepest condolences to the families grieving. We will provide updates ASAP.

Alberta separation would put our jobs, investment, and economic future at risk. Calgary has the highest employment rate of any major Canadian city, and unemployment is down to 6.3%. Even with tariffs and trade uncertainty, we're holding our own. We need more jobs & investment, not separation chaos.

Should Danielle Smith be able to order your local council to vote to approve rezoning for a massive AI data centre? And threaten to fire your democratically elected mayor if they vote against it? This latest provincial overreach isn't about density. It's about your legal right to a fair hearing.

With the latest provincial overreach, Danielle Smith is now ordering me how to vote at Calgary City Council. If I refuse, I risk losing my job. I want to work constructively with the province, even when we disagree. But we must be free to listen to residents and make fair decisions.
