Kyiv. Monday morning. Reading updates. The news collided like two trains. CNN Travel included Kyiv’s metro among the world’s best. One metro station in Kyiv was damaged during last night’s russian attack. Two surface stations were closed.

At 83, Linda Levine marched beside her daughter at Saturday’s No Kings protest. “I am 83 and I can’t believe that my daughter has less rights now than I had,” she said. “We fought for them and this Supreme Court took them away.” #SheShed #NoKings

As a girl, she watched a Native woman die after a white doctor repeatedly failed to show up. She decided to become the doctor her people were denied. In 1889, Dr. Susan La Flesche Picotte became the first Native American woman to earn a medical degree in the U.S. #IndigenousPeoplesDay #SheShed

Late night in Kyiv. Another drone threat has just ended. I cannot sleep. Ordered some books. The publisher whose warehouse was hit the other day suggested buying the books that survived. They have traces of fire or water damage. They called the initiative ‘The Fire Didn’t Finish Reading’.

Again and again russia destroys Ukrainian books. After each strike on a book warehouse, I film how Kyiv bookstores react. Today, my favourite one. In the video: some books by Knygolove, whose warehouse was hit yesterday. The bookstore asks people to support affected publishers by buying a book.

Add Karen Smith to my list of badasses whose mouthy approach I respect. Actions usually speak louder than words. This is a hero, Y'all. Well done, Ma'am. You're gonna kick ass in your new position. ✊📖

A few minutes in Kyiv. Drones and a power outage not on the schedule. Someone is stuck in the elevator. My upstairs neighbour is going to look after her mum (97) in Sumy, closer to the frontline. A woman on the street asks where the nearest shelter is. I see her fear and take her to a safe place.

Rescinding the rule puts all that in peril. Road construction, logging and mining clear-cuts animals’ homes, breaks up important habitat and threatens already vulnerable species. ✅ I urge you not to rescind the Roadless Rule, and instead to keep these vital protections in place. 🚨✍️TAKE ACTION!👇👇👇

These forests couldn’t look more different, from a red, juniper-dotted desert to a coastal ecosystem shrouded in thick fog. But unfortunately, they share something in common: All three are currently under threat – and we believe they’re worth saving. environmental-action.org/resources/fr...

For the past year, Norma had parked her camper van outside Delaney Hall. Converted into a mobile clinic and offered health checks. She encountered a wall of two dozen ICE agents in paramilitary vests. She felt her body fling through the air. Now she seeks justice. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

Blumenthal: Tether is a crypto company that has a stablecoin known as USDT, and it is the major means of Iran avoiding and evading sanctions. What we’ve also exposed is that Cantor Fitzgerald has a major financial tie. Cantor Fitzgerald was owned by Howard Lutnick. It’s still run by his family.

Is it too much to want a Defense Secretary focused on ending the war in Iran, instead of whatever this is?
