I'm into non-toxic positivity, film, art, music, food, anime, manga, æsthetics, & finding different ways to see, hear, & understand. Also pro-housing, pro-cycling. Hopefully that covers it.

I've spent 30+ years helping build & maintain a positive & uplifting culture of service in my workplace. Every one of us needs to get better at: •asking "How can I help?" •saying "I need help" •asking empathic questions •listening to the answers, & •focusing on responding instead of just reacting

Are you concerned about costly litigation and an extremely expensive buy-up of DTE's unreliable infrastructure? Well rest easy then because all Prop E does is authorizes a feasibility study and creates an arcane governing board empowered to do all manner of things that it won't actually do.

#a2council The alternative here is to notice that we're all living this city w/ a significant degree of intimacy, & that we could choose to literally sit down together, discuss issues of concern in good faith w/ each other, & then collaboratively work toward universally beneficial compromises.

I'm calling it here, #a2council, the bandshell in Sterling Heights' Dodge Park looks way more functional than ours in West Park. If we can't fit something like this in West Park (& use it w/o annoying the neighbors there), maybe Vets Park might work?

I am once again asking residents of Ann Arbor who seem angry about change, to join those of us who see in change possibilities that could lead to a better future. We can embrace change together creatively & work w/ our #a2council government to help the changes we make turn out as good as possible.

May the gods help us if this guy is elected mayor. I say this as an atheist. There will be no one who can help us if this guy is elected mayor.

Wow this suuuuuuucks😢 How can she not have worked out some kind of reply to a question like this by now? Honestly it could be as simple as, "I will accept support from absolutely anyone because candidates need tons of money & other support to win elections now, & my goal is to win." But instead…

Cannot get over how electable just drifting away from a constituent who asked you a challenging question makes you.

"Life can change just like that"... including changing from someone who can say this into the absolute piece of human garbage the Lindsey Graham just died as.

Charlotte Clymer@charlotteclymer.bsky.social

Summer 2015. Several lifetimes ago. A different America. Lindsey Graham, running for president, says this about Joe Biden. The same summer he said Trump would “kill” the GOP with his hateful comments. Several lifetimes ago. A different America.

My contribution to this morning's impoliteposting about Lindsey Graham...

...if so I just want to say: respect, because that is some serious sādhu level of devotion to trying to distract everyone from the Epstein files.

The A2 Public Power "Candidate Scorecard" is out, #a2council I guess the "grade" is in the NRA style because it's basically a measure of how strongly each candidate appears to agree w/ A2P2's leadership. If a college instructor gave "grades" that looked this arbitrary they would be fired.

Note this is very much the opposite of how More Neighbors A2 released their candidate questionnaire results, despite the opposition candidates & their supporters, w/o any evidence, hurling false accusations of bias to justify their refusal to reply. Congrats to those who actually value transparency.

#a2council fact 1: change is inevitable fact 2: property owners are free to sell their property Those impacted by these 2 facts can choose from at least 2 options: 1. participate in helping the sale of a property result in beneficial change 2. angrily refuse to accept the veracity of facts 1 & 2

If a politician says they support [x] we *must* ask: What specific policy measures in support of [x] will you put forward if elected? Also: How will you pay for that? If they don't answer with *specifics*, #a2council, then tell them – to their faces – you won't vote for them w/o hearing specifics.

I was about to drop this as a comment elsewhere, but then remembered that it would just make the account owner & their followers angry... We could all benefit from improving our skills in the areas of setting/negotiating reasonable boundaries & respecting the reasonable boundaries that others set.

Perhaps I've lived a sheltered life, but I have to admit that I've never seen someone who wasn't a fictional character yell in response to a question about how they handle conflict resolution before. Quite an achievement when you think about it.

Hey, #a2council, does anyone know if any of our local anti-change activists are playing the Summer Game? I can't help but wonder if they're writing any weird stuff on their game code yard signs.

Can't "duet" posts here, so the chaser is in the 1st reply...

i think more than the fact of having bad opinions about gaza itself, looking at everything happening in the world right now and choosing "im gonna write an op-ed praising trump on gaza" as the thing you want to speak up about is insane.

When folks traffic in conspiracy theories it does these 2 bad things (among many other bad things): - it predisposes those folks to constantly assume the worst from the targets of their theories - it draws out the worst in other folks even less tethered to reality A tale in 2 #a2council mtg clips:

To all #a2council candidates who might read this… If you're already "really tired" of being asked policy-making questions months prior to even being elected to a policy-making position, maybe you shouldn't be vying for a seat at the policy-making table.

As a candidate, when asked questions about, for example, how you will pay for the policies you recommend the correct answer is to concisely state the specific funding sources you have in mind. Far from being "really tired", #a2council, you should feel excited & proud to share your practicable ideas.

If "How are my property taxes being spent?" is an Ann Arbor resident's main concern, they really ought to be getting deeply involved with what the Ann Arbor School Board is doing these days.

"Blue Origin"? More like "Orange and Yellow Finale" amirite?

BREAKING: Blue Origin's New Glenn blows up at Launch Complex-36 while attempting to static fire.

#a2council it's clear that to Rabhi public/private partnerships are (for brevity I'll say) "bad." That position is dumb. If what we want as progressives is to have more control over the bad behaviors of private economic entities, shouldn't we want to form partnerships — in order to get more control?
