Thinking about chronicling how I get through the baseball off-season with like 1 tweet a day of how i fill the baseball void. 10/20 - Went for a bike ride. Watched Brothers on Apple TV with Woody Harrelson/Matthew Mcconaughey. Quite funny. 10/21 - Watching Love is Blind

This is extremely local, but the comments all the stories about the Morton Salt mine water breach in NEO clearly proves how many people either failed basic environmental science or the system failed them. I dont know. I was a terrible science student. Of course, FB comments lack common sense..

Was a day behind already 10/22 - more love is blind and the Cavs game (that was a mistake) 10/23, watched the World Series, obviously. More Love is Blind. And started Crystal Lake on Peacock. 10/24 - Went for a bike ride, and saw You Can See Everything. I still have SO many questions.

10/25 - major house clean, bike ride and more Crystal Lake 10/26 - Bike ride, still trying to finish Crystal Lake and The World Series, obviously.

Defintely more than 6.... I think that 60 game TV contact issue is the only thing that brings them back together. So preparing for like a 102 game season next year.

Man, we may only have one more MLB game left for, like, six months or more. 😭

Base hit up the middle by Hamilton...

By the way, the ONLY ball that was pulled in that 5th inning scoring frenzy was Cooper Pratt's double. Chourio - 1B to CF Bauers - FO7 Turang - 1B to CF Mitchell - 1B to LF Pratt - 2B LF Frelick - 2B LF Milwaukee ranked 1st this year in batted balls up the middle and oppo.

I continue to believe that if the bat crosses over the plate *at all* (that is, enters the strike zone) it should be considered a swing, because, at that point, contact could result in fouling off a strike or hitting the ball fair. I share this a lot, but it's all in here:

nytimes.comWhat's the rulebook definition of a swing in baseball? There isn't one — but there should beWhat is a swing? That might seem like a simple question, maybe even a stupid one. Yet, anyone who says they know the rulebook definition of swing in Major League Baseball is lying. Because there isn’t...

First of all, terrible camera angle. Fox doesn't have a good angle. If you've seen the ABS check swing challenges in the minors, this is a swing. I don't think by the way they've "judged" a swing like this in the majors it is right now. But I think the system will say it is.

Yandy Díaz was not happy with his check swing being called for strike three, but the overhead view sure makes it look like he went

Ashby getting 5 outs in back to back games. Feels like a lot. But maybe then I have PTSD seeing the Guardians relievers get pushed like that and wearing down.

Justin L@jlbaseball.bsky.social

That was a terrible at bat by Williamson. He had a walk there if he outwaits Ashby. Leaving him in for Diaz might be a mistake

They really need the audio from the replay booth in MLB like the Big Ten does (I can't believe I'm saying the Big Ten has something right.)

Kevin Cash's bullpen decisions in these first two games seem strange. Leaving Kelly in too long here. Matz warming second day in a row. Keeps going to Seymour who has been rough as a reliever.

Given that the Brewers and Rays were at the top of the leaderboard in center/oppo hit balls - seems intentional. It works. For them.

Mike Petriello@mikepetriello.bsky.social

Did you know: if you pull a ball to score a run it's worth 1 run, but if you hit it oppo it's worth 5 runs

So the Cavs tried to blow another lead but apparently Brooklyn is that bad? Forgot it was even on with the whole terrible broadcast situation

I had to use the bathroom for like the final hour of You Can See Everything. But I never got up. I was hooked. I have so many questions. So many.

What happened to "if you're innocent you have nothing to worry about?"

With Cole Sulser coming in, every ex-Cleveland org player has gotten into the game tonight except for Richie Palacios. Diaz, Caminero, Bauers, Kelly, Sulser

Brewers just have catcher magic

Once again the Rays tried to run on William Contreras. Once again it was a poor decision, made even more so since it came on a strikeout.

I guess Victor Mesa Jr. made up for being thrown out at third himself with that throw. But David Hamilton is probably safe if he doesnt stumble at second.

So much for Nick Martinez being hittable. 1st inning jitters I guess. Velo was up. Maybe command was off. He did throw a wild pitch vs. Cleveland in Game 4

Casey Drottar@caseydrottar.bsky.social

For as shaky as his outing started, Nick Martinez has really settled down on the mound. He's already at five K's, a total he's hit just once in a game since August 18.

Rays were definitely ready for Miz's velo that inning. Ironically the outs were louder than the hits he allowed. But that's how the Rays are.

Great story for Brandon Woodruff to be on the Brewers World Series roster but massive risk if something happens and they may not be allowed to replace him.
