I’ve decided that the putty knife makeup used by Trumpers is a symptom of a moral rot so powerful that it’s manifesting physically. Trump’s hand sores are likely from injections of formaldehyde.

This! If democracy is to survive, we have to play the GOP’s game until they cry uncle and agree government reports to the people and not vice versa. If we don’t invoke the nuclear option, fascism will roll over us all. Driving the middle - Schumer and Jeffries - to agree will also be a big lift.

Importantly, yes oil companies lost assets, but that doesn’t mean they lost money. Oil companies add a “risk premium” when they decide to do business in politically unstable countries to ensure they still make a profit. We literally ran this exercise in my MBA program.
