Listen up Labor, you are suffering from political anaemia. Stop appeasing & start opposing injustice. You think you are treading a fine win-at-all-cost line, but you are trashing your raison d’être. Tax the gas, abandon AUKUS, stop giving to the rich and punishing the poor, invest in sovereign AI…

The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

“A struggle for the future looms, in the university as elsewhere: for genuine knowledge, for humanity, for life.” A brilliant essay well worth your time. When I retired, the situation was bad, unrecognisable from when I started, but now it’s much worse. theconversation.com/friday-essay...

Absolutely. The power of the oligarchs has become a clear and present danger to the health of humanity. They must be opposed and their powers reduced.

After apparently sabotaging the No Kings rallies today, this comes as no surprise. The powerful thing folk can do to resist this fascism is to resign from Instagram and boycott Facebook.

In 2023 my city voted YES to the Voice Referendum although my country overall voted NO. This was an important opportunity missed to recognise the painful consequences of dispossession and begin to atone for the horrors that have been perpetrated against the Indigenous owners. Shame on us.

Anne Aly absolutely bristling at the abhorrent comments Angie Bell made about her and Anthony Albanese getting stoned in the square. Anne Aly’s anger and disbelief is palpable. This wasn’t misspeak or a comment that can be apologised away. It was a dog whistle and hopefully the AFP looking at this

What does the inequality crisis look like? This 👇 98% of public schools are underfunded – that’s 2.6 million kids without the resources they need for the education they deserve. Yet the richest private schools are charging massive fees while banking billions of public dollars.

Literally dirty money … gleaned hand over fist by mining what always was and is Indigenous earth and given with a quid pro quo. Return her cheque immediately.

🙏 To Our Digital Warrior! Julia Inman Grant, Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, will leave after 10 years on the job. She has served our country & the civilised world so brilliantly. I can only imagine what she has personally been subjected to. Thank you for your years of service and innovation.

Common sense and ingenuity from Sweden … if we have to have these things, we need to think more creatively about where we put them, how they are powered and cooled, and where their waste goes. Meanwhile a moratorium will give us time to think and plan.

While Albanese is responsible for what is happening now, this wicked situation has a much longer history. If we value social harmony we had better begin righting this ship by generously funding our public schools immediately!

We absolutely do. Another of Albanese’s disgraceful legacies. Its insanity writ large #auspol

Nick McKim has torched Matt Canavan & Angus Taylor for their misogyny, ‘fueling the toxic manosphere”, ‘blaming women’ & making claims of ‘femisation of schools’ “What does that even mean?” “Real men don’t blame women when life gets tough.”💥💯

Australia- wake up. AI without ethical oversight is beyond dangerous. We need action on this now. No more data centres - none - until a regulatory framework is in place for AI.
