Not sure my employer would appreciate me using :sad_at_desk:, but I think we could get a lot of mileage out of :graph_error: and the fires.

Seventh grade, English. The protagonist of a story we were reading (aloud) was named “Margot”. I pronounced it “MAR-goh” and she insisted it was “MAR-gott” because “it’s science fiction”. Neither of us backed down, but only one of us could send the other to the principal’s office.

I have to imagine this is really just about dogs being more popular than cats. But that’s a terrible reason to leave your cat off your profile if what you really want is to find another cat person.

I'd never seen the play before and this has totally spoiled me for it. I watched some clips of other versions and the actors seem half asleep in comparison.

Watching this now and it's the most unhinged production of Earnest I've ever seen. It's like the fae have stolen all the roles are are spoofing what they think humanity is. It rules.

I watched SATANTANGO a few years ago. I guess the streaming platform didn’t expect content to be that long, because it silently froze at the six hour mark in a totally black, silent moment. I watched it for a full minute before thinking “You know, this seems extreme even for you.” RIP, Béla Tarr.

Reminded of when my family adopted a completely white cat, and we were spitballing ideas on the drive home. “Snowball” “Sugar” Dad: ”Cokey” Mom: “NO”

Photo from my collection, the back reads “Christmas 1969. Snowball trying to see what Mom put in the garbage.”

I get a lot of Republican spam "from" Winsome Earle-Sears, and all I can see in my head is this guy. I did finally look them up, but I will not be updating my mental image at this time.

LinkedIn wants me to nudge my dead uncle to play some games, and Telegram just told me my father-in-law has joined Telegram from beyond the grave. Happy Halloween, I guess. 👻

I don’t know how much hearing the Franz Ferdinand show cost me, but it was totally worth it. My only real regret is not being down in the pit for Take Me Out, because that looked like a blast.

“🎵 Nosferatu… why don’t you come to your senses? You’ve been _____________, For so long now” My brain has been trying to finish this rhyme all morning.

This one works pretty much out-of-the-box, though. “Nosferatu, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger Your pain and your hunger, They're drivin' you home”

Scale everyone down about 25%. Everyone immediately becomes cheaper to feed, house, and move around. (I swear I had this idea years before Hank Green’s God video.)

What Golden Age actors would’ve made great Doctors (of the Who variety)? Like, take Katherine Hepburn’s manic energy from Bringing Up Baby, add the raw intelligence from Desk Set, and put her in a snappy suit.

Dang, I’d forgotten how hard the artwork for Phoenix (1983) went. Armored, rocket-firing hawks! Planet-sized bird temples! EXPLOSIONS!

Yoshi’s Island (1995) stands out because something was broken with our SNES (or TV?) and it couldn’t show color. I played the entire first world in grayscale before we fixed it. Seeing the game in full color for the first time was mind-blowing.

Post a game you got for Christmas. This would be the start of a Christmas tradition for several years of getting THPS games for Christmas, but I’ll always remember getting the winter vibes from this one thanks to its snowy Canada level
