Honestly poetic. A franchise that has led the charge in taking position player pitching from quirky happenstance to roster strategy - just one of dozens of aesthetically perverting “innovations” in service of being cheap doing this as we barrel toward a lockout in service of owners being cheap.

Stupid franchise is going to end this game with a position player on the mound and I’m going to scream.

Every clip I see about Bauza is so heartbreaking, he seems like such an amazing dude. Also, we gotta bring back using voice actors for animated shows and not just celebrities looking for an easy buck.

The Heritage Classic doesn’t always go hard on fun jerseys… but the ones that have are all-timers

Got out and walked today after voting early and… I’d forgotten that Halloween is a multi-weekend thing sometimes, especially closer to colleges. I did not anticipate “Sexy Krusty Krab Worker” to be a costume but here we are.

Dustin Byfuglien held court with media for 10 minutes just now and didn’t disappoint. Some absolute gems. On why he stayed with #NHLJets so long? “Well, all my stuff was here.” He got very emotional at times, too. This alumni homecoming means a lot. Story coming for @winnipegfreepress.com

#NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff says he wishes he could have got this deal done “four or five months ago” but says the goalie market is a unique one.

Cheveldayoff had to know the offers he had at the draft and over the summer were going to be better than what he was going to get in-season. Sticking to your guns and principles comes at a cost.

Luukkonen spoke with some of us post practice and we informed of what was going on with Hellebuyck. With that and his own play of late, focus is all he can do. "Nobody is going to trust you more than yourself. People can say what they want. If it's good, if it's bad, it doesn't matter."

You gotta think Dylan Larkin gets his wish soon….. Right?

What's the best trade fit for Dylan Larkin on his 10-team trade list? @joeyerdon.bsky.social has the answer here. bleacherreport.com/articles/255...

The Sabres are playing, overall, rather tepid hockey with some dazzlers in there. But they've consistently played behind in games all year and it's exceedingly difficult to dig your way out of a hole every game. Lindy wants them to play connected and things are disjointed right now.

Are you saying the Sabres are playing great hockey that's being blown up by poor goaltending? I hope that's not what you're saying

Fight! Samuelsson and Hunter McDonald, the local guy. That scrap broke up a Flyers scoring chance going the other way. Samuelsson gets the instigator. McDonald flattened McLeod in open ice and Samuelsson took exception

A pile of mistakes all shift by the Sabres turns into Cole Knuble scoring his second goal of the game banking it in off Luukkonen's skate 3:03 into the third for a 3-1 Flyers lead
