Folks can argue about the relevancy of the “Democratic socialist” label all day. But if that’s what you’re hung up on, you’re missing the larger point. People aren’t chasing labels. They’re chasing change. Real, structural, unapologetic change. 🧵

Time for new signs at demos' follow them home!' they all have to go home at some point by taking off the masks when they leave the office. Make them look over their shoulder. Send a chill up ICE..

#taxwealth I wonder how many shares we bought back the day after..

(Bloomberg) - Insiders including Meta Platforms Inc.’s Mark Zuckerberg, Oracle Corp.’s Safra Catz and JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s Jamie Dimon cashed out shares worth billions of dollars before President Donald Trump’s tariff announcements roiled markets. @bloomberg.com www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

STUDY. Clear evidence that drugs law enforcement increases rather than reduces violence, does not reduce the supply of drugs and increases the risk of overdose. UK #drugspolicy is a disaster and has exactly the opposite effect to that intended. filtermag.org/uk-goverment...

🧵Just seen this post: "Goodbye @UKLabour Starmer's party is as repugnant as the Tories and Reform - indifferent to suffering, complicit in injustice, devoid of integrity. I am dedicated to removing this party from power for a society that doesn't attack the most vulnerable, but empowers them."

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

Whilst the UK government cowers before them all..

This is why Vance, Musk & the rest of them talk about our ‘free speech’ being under threat while they fast track actual fascism in the USA. It’s a long con & their accomplices are far-right blue ticks with the brains of blancmange.

Absolutely proud of you all! HUG! So far, 3.1 million protesters counted today — that’s nearly 1% of the U.S. population! Photos are flooding social media everywhere. Still waiting on more numbers to come in.

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Been warning people about the creeping language used so casually around the table, most lack the political education to understand the paths they now walk. Now the language has become action and cause.

Why is Keir Starmer's government adopting policies that look perfectly designed to prevent its re-election? This column seeks to unravel the mystery and explain the fundamental forces that now govern our politics. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

One thing I found unrealistic about The Man in the High Castle was that more Americans weren't fighting back. But I've changed my mind - in reality, the level of cowardice in the face of authoritarianism is enormous.

Chrononaut@chrononaut.bsky.social

I keep hearing about how much Americans love freedom, and how they will fight for it (some even bought guns specifically for this purpose) but what I see is mostly a capitulation so cowardly, preemptive and wide-spread as if freedom was always just an empty word to most Americans alive today.

Selling off reservoirs, failing to invest, polluting our water – these aren't just acts of negligence. They undermine our national water security. In an existential crisis we might call that what it is: sabotage. In a time of national peril, sabotage has another name: treason. #sewagecrisis
