Life is a lotto and you don't get to pick your parents, but again today, publication day, I am counting my blessings for mine, Con and Siobhán Creedon, to whom my new memoir - This Boy's Voice - is dedicated with gratitude and love. (wedding day July 1943)

Oh what a night ! Hugely grateful to Miriam O'Callaghan, Maire Logue, @OMahonysBooks and the wonderful audience and crew at UCH.ie for such a warm welcome for the boy on his first public event. Míle buíochas !

1970s & 80s Ireland is the setting for my new memoir - This Boy's Voice - as I negotiate Boarding School, Boot Boys, Broadcasting, Babies, Relationships & Rathmines! A story of failure & frolics on the journey home to me. Now available from bookshops. I hope you enjoy. Thank you.

We share myriad facial expressions with our simian cousins. Among the most common are those engendered by happiness, anger, surprise, fear, sadness, and kale.

"Hi Mom. Yeah, I'm still at Christopher's house. We were playing on this wheel he has and it's SO COOL! Anyway, his mother wants to know if I can stay for dinner. What? Grilled cheese, I think. Wait, I'll ask. My mom wants to know if you have any lactose-free."

Been working on my opinions. Nearly have a full set of correct opinions. Like a panini football sticker album with just the last few remaining that I wasn't able to fill through swaps.

Thanks Michael. Had forgotten about this one. A morning favourite on Radio Eireann when I was a smallie... and late for school!

Reminds me of a Maeve Binchy article where she was very impressed that the Australian airport kept reminding people to report to the chicken desk and assumed their Department of Agriculture was very strict. She the got her boarding pass at the chicken desk…

Thanks for your faith in me Kieran. 70s & 80s Ireland is the stage for this one. EEC NO to ULSTER SAYS NO - but plenty of craic too! #ThisBoysVoice lands on the bookshelves of Ireland on Oct.22nd.

Our first port of call as teenagers on arrival in Manchester from Cork in 70s & 80s to see United play. Cheap denims before our next stop- The Dog & Partridge, The Trafford Bar and even got into the players lounge once to meet Tommy Docherty! A tale I recount in my forthcoming memoir #ThisBoysVoice.

Manchester's forgotten underground Market Centre beneath Market Street. Opened 1972, boasted more than 100 stores. Closed 1989, parts of the infrastructure now dilapidated.

“Christopher! What’s the rule?” “Don’t eat the Amazon guy?” “The other rule.” “Don’t eat the UPS guy?” “The OTHER rule.” “Stay off the furniture?” “That’s right.”
