A real advantage of working from home… At this time of the year I get to look out over my monitor for weeks on end at my cherry tree, it goes from green to these beautiful shades of reds and orange. It tends to start far earlier than the other trees but keeps going (storms aside)

Through the close window. Tri-X on one of my minoltas. I couldn't resist, guy in a semmit reflecting in the pub across the road. #streetphotography #photography #filmphotography

Tantallon Castle from Seacliff beach. Hasselblad 500cm - 50mm Provia 100 #filmphotography #film #photography

Motherwell Steel Works. Long exposure at dusk. Large format. Tmax 100 I think 75mm Nikkor lens. Shifted to bring the top down to bring the full upper part of the building in the image Quite a long exposure (lots of car trails) #filmphotography #largeformat #photography #motherwell

Glasgow Cross The new remove tool in PS is remarkable for removing scratches and water stains from negs Paint over the area and ask to remove. colours balanced and off we go. 250d #xpan #filmphotography #pano #glasgow

I didn't remove everything just the big bits, I could spend more time, but If I wanted the image that clean I would shoot digital 😜

Probably posted this before :-) XPAN - Widelux, same point of view no change in height or distance. 45mm (equivalent 25mm) Xpan lens Widelux 28mm. Widelux was on 1/15th (slight movement from me) xpan prob 1/20th I am bad at colour balancing #xpan #widelux #glasgow

Sculpture, Lanarkshire Scotland. Pinhole, can't remember the film used, it appears to be a traditional grain, prob FP4 or HP5 #pinhole #filmphotography

Skye 6x17 Vermeer #pinhole Bergger pancro 400 The exposure was long + 10 mins when I started it the cuillin were completely clear when I finished (gave up due to zero visibility) you couldn't see the bridge in front of me for rain. #pinholephotography #film #panos #panorama

And for the more urbanly tuned. The V&A Dundee. Same MPP Technical Camera Kodak Tech-Pan film.... I still have some in the freezer..... #filmphotography #largeformat #scotland #photography

Skye, looking to the Cuillin. Rather a bit of a cliche I suppose, but it is my wee cliche :-P MPP Techincal HP5 4x5 sheet. 90mm Caltec lens Exposure length, can't remember, but it was long. #filmphotography #largeformat #scotland #skye #photography

Glasgow subway #Widelux F7 500T at 800 (I now shoot it at 400) #filmphotographers #panos #panorama #wideluxf7

Another of my tube collection St Paul’s I think but happy to be shown the error of my ways. #widelux f6 Kodak 500t converted in post. I had an idea this would be a monochrome whilst taking. #filmphotography #panos #panorama #tube #londonunderground

I also keep weird and wonderful things in a tank full of water. This is a bubble tip anemone surrounded by various sea mushrooms. The kaleidoscope of colours it has are truly staggering.

You may or may not have noticed this… Most of the uk supermarkets have stopped selling mackerel in tins. Replacing it quietly with shit from South America. I understand this is due to overfishing… But this was quietly done hoping people wouldn’t notice, after-all it says mackerel on the tin…. #shady

It's been years since I moved away from a dominance of landscape photography in my output, returning back to a dominance of urban work. This one is from a decade ago, shot on my ever trusty (at that time) 5dmkii 10 min exposure. From Elgol Isle of Skye. #photography #skye #landscapephotography

There are negatives then there are VV negatives. Compression is not always kind to negative space negs, but these look fine. Kodak Ektar, developed in ECN2 Minor dust removal and off we go. #hasselblad500cm 80mm #filmphotography #hasselblad #croatia #film #beltofvenus

These larger sized, 3 image frames from ikea make great homes for roughly 80cm panoramas. So glad they are now making larger ones The fit the widelux near perfectly The face on gets too many reflections from fishtank and window 😂 Side on you can see the image better #widelux #filmphotography

Shame on the uk gov for conflating 2 things to guilt layer you into thinking it’s illegal to do street photography. This was shared on fb, I have checked the veracity and it is a legit uk gov pamphlet Street photography is not a crime. Don’t go down the whole every photographer is a pervert route

This just enrages me, whilst there are perverts out there, for the uk gov to tie street photography into this is shocking…

My postings are still a bit thin on the ground, I am spending far too much time with my reef tanks and not enough time out photographing. Here we have: The rather wonderfully modern forward looking Brutalism that is the BOAC building Glasgow Gillespie, Kidd & Coia designed

A flattened image from a 360 degree taken by my drone of the uncovered Egyptian Halls Glasgow, it's been covered by scaffolding for about 15 plus years. The flattened looks like a widelux attached to the drone. hopefully the 360 which is also here will show.

I was out with my drone this morning. It has been a while. Soon as I put the battery in it stated it was over the class weight. This was every battery. All DJI all marked 249g Anyone else seen this with a firmware update ? DJI mini 4 pro And a gull shat on it in the air 😂 #drone #dji

Glasgow looks really empty in many of my images. It’s a combination of day time, exposure & traffic lights. Day = weekends Time = early Exposure = 30 sec + Traffic lights = I wait & see what the timing is on them and use this time to get the camera in & the shot taken @realitysosubtle.bsky.social

On a sadder note this image as you see it is no longer possible. The middle building down the road burned to the ground a month or 2 back. Forever changing the vista in the heart of Glasgow at central station

Traffic lights = Time to get in & the shot taken it’s, so I can stand in front of any traffic whilst it is stopped. You can also add in for longer streets the timings at the lights before to slow the traffic. @realitysosubtle.bsky.social #6x17 #pinhole #pinholephotography

Seems like I was off here for near a month. Not sure how that happened. Not been out making images, not doing much really. I have a week off next week, will see if I can get some traction going. I have 2 loaves fermenting in the fridge after I made a batch last night. So I must be moving again 😊

Is it just me or is Facebook down ? Same with messenger. I initially thought they had shadow banned me for upset maga supporting Epstein deniers but I reckon it’s not just me 😂

Unintentional camera movement. The tube can be a bit bouncy if trying to shoot on 1/15th whilst moving Some lines are better than others widelux f7 kodak 500t #widelux #panos #tube #panorama #filmphotography

Been too busy setting up my nano reef that I am forgetting my photography. Ikea have recently increased the range of pano frames and are now offering a larger one. I have 3 frames currently on the wall with the smaller version with 3 b&W Thinking of these as a set #filmphotography

Little & large in the family I need to replace the bellows in the No4 (leather already in the bag) The No1 has had a fall at some point so needs a little bit of bending into shape again behind the door. I may strip them back to wood / recover or varnish #filmphotography #panos #kodakpanoram

The spirit level in the No1 is fully intact even after all these years. The No4 has dried up but I may replace.

After a long long break my good lady finally agreed for me to have a fish tank in the house again, last time I ended up building a purpose built shed in the garden for them. This time it’s reef tanks so not gonna start breeding them again… One of my corals through my large format loupe viewer
