What thinking of making a #nokings poster out of this for my local No Kings rally but there would be exactly zero people that would get it. #paulwesterberg

Still have the originals of many of these issues in my attic. Huge inspiration to me as a young magazine designer in the 80s, and taught me everything I needed to know about a certain "short-fingered vulgarian".

Probably my most played album for much of the early-mid 80s.

43 years ago More Fun in the New World is the fourth studio album by the American punk rock band X, released in September 1983, featuring the single "The New World" #punk #punks #punkrock #x #xtheband #thenewworld #history #punkrockhistory

There was a great Replacements song about pillaging in the Village.

Amazing show by Wilco last night at the terrific Thompson’s Point venue in Portland, Maine. Pregame beers at Bissell Brothers a good bonus. Best concert I’ve seen in years.

Trump hearing "cisgender" and thinking its "six genders" then getting all mad about it, thus forcing other Republicans to agree that the libs are now demanding there be six genders, is a perfect encapsulation of our Golden Age of Dickishness and Stupidity.

Marblehead's gonna Marblehead

On its third attempt tonight, Marblehead Town Meeting approved an “MBTA Communities–compliant” district largely centered on the 125-year-old Tedesco Country Club, meeting 3A requirements on paper while all but assuring no new housing would be built. This comment says it all.

Found the handwritten setlist I made following Paul Westerberg's surprise club show in Cambridge, MA in 1993, and entered it here in Setlist. Pretty sure this was Paul's very first post-Replacements show—pretty amazing to be at.

The band for that night and the following of the 14-Songs tour was pretty much what would be the reunited Replacements 20 years later, except with Darren Hill subbing for Tommy.

NEW—I got an exclusive excerpt from a USAID whistleblower's new book that made me gasp multiple times. It details Trump's dismantling of the humanitarian aid agency & his team/DOGE's shocking ignorance to public health. 'Into the Wood Chipper' by Nicholas Enrich is out tomorrow. Read excerpt here:

Question for @porpster.bsky.social or #AT40 fans. I have reel-to-reel tapes of Casey's year-end countdowns from 1974-1984. Even have the old Magnavox deck I taped them on, though doubt it still works. I assume these all exist online now, so just wondering if there's any value in keeping them?

Decided to power this old thing up, throw in one of the tapes and see if it works. Haven’t turned it on in 40 years. And voila, it’s Cheap Trick coming on at number 34 in Casey’s 1979 year-end #AT40 countdown.

Only way I can possibly watch this.
