There has never been a greater threat to American democracy than Donald Trump and MAGA.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

PROP - PR Over Policy. Don't confuse them. He is flooding the zone. He knows that media will cover everything he does. Getting people upset. Which helps give him more coverage of the upset people. All just talking about him. Dems need to be strategic.

Some news: A few hours after I filed the draft to this story, CNN laid me off. As part of a massive restructuring/changes across the network, my role as climate writer was among the 200 that got cut last week. It’s disappointing, but I’ll be okay. My last day is on Feb 21. A thread.🧵 1/

Trump’s executive order took aim at “environmental justice” — eliminating positions and assessing spending on projects, including those aimed at poor, rural communities. I talked to former WH environmental justice advisers to the Biden administration on what this means. www.cnn.com/2025/01/26/c...

My one wish for the inauguration is that there is a gift bag under the seats of Bezos, Zuck, Elon etc, with a single, embroidered , padded knee pad Need to protect themselves when they are on bended knee, kissing the ring 🤷😆

Transgender people don’t transition specifically so they can infiltrate bathrooms or sports, but a criminal and his oligarchs did specifically run for President to avoid consequences and to prioritize profits over people. Remember that when they tell you who to hate.

I am hopeful the Trump administration won't walk back Biden's recent permission for Ukraine to shoot missiles into Russian territory. I don't know why I said "hopeful," because he's already hinted that he'll reinstate the restrictions.

The plane reportedly carrying oligarch dictator Bashar al-Assad has either been shot down, crashed or carried out an Emergency Landing to the West of Homs. Rumors are swirling around Syria as people await information about the fate or whereabouts of the murderous Russian / Iranian backed tyrant.

I just found out that around 20% of the neanderthal genome still exists today in living people!! No individual person has more than 3 or 4% but we don't all have the same bits. If you add up all the bits we've found, about a fifth of the Neanderthal genome is still present on earth today.

Absolutely love the Green brothers and the good they do for society.

I was just talking to my daughter about how Black Friday sales and fake scarcity are just attempts to hijack psychology for profit and she was like, "But you have a Black Friday sale," BUT THAT'S DIFFERENT ALICE BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF GOODS ITS ALL GOING FAST good.store

Insane article. The vast majority of this increase is because we were exposed to burn pits in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s our generation’s agent orange. As a burn pit veteran myself, the economist is absolutely wrong here. My guess is there were no burn pit vets on the board that wrote this

You are up to date.
