As 4 simultaneous Handbrake 4K compressions run Mac Studio's the built-in video encoders, the rest of the CPU's are having a yawn. So impressive M Chip power and efficiency from Apple. They have really mastered top chip design.

I heard a broadcaster/podcaster describe Trump as great for business, describing how 75% of his show's content has been led by Trump's emanations. What is tiresome is the amount of similar content on Social Media. Fountains of this effluent splashing-up everywhere. Makes me turn away from SM.

@lesleyriddoch.bsky.social Scottish wind farms paid not to generate nearly 40% of potential electricity on.ft.com/4fyNsLB What the article suggests is “Scotland” receives renewable subsidies, my point is who owns Scotland? I bet these payments just flow south, just like the electricity does.

It was 3-4 episodes of watching Seth Rogan's The Studio on tv before I saw the shooting style of @aiannucci.bsky.social The Thick of it. Similar camera work, don't know how much improvisation, but it made for a breezy increasingly funny series. Not a big SR fan, but I ended-up loving the show.

Posted @withregram • @thehardcompound A wonderful sight at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. 7 drivers who between them won 14 F1 WDCs, 166 wins and 145 pole positions. Emerson Fittipaldi, Mario Andretti, Sir Jackie Stewart, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Mika Häkkinen and Jacques Villeneuve.

As ever analysis of why such schemes have failed never look north of Berwick. Scotland’s train service has been in public hands for close to five years. Not one £ is being given to private equity, dividends or inflated salary. And the trains run on time (second best area in the UK, FT).

The more I think about Christian Horner being dismissed by Red Bull plus two other execs, the more I think there is to the story. Perhaps to the accusations 17m ago too. Either way this is a huge loss for Red Bull, a man who led them to all their success they’ve ever won. Fallow period ahead.

If we ignore the accusations, Horner is the most successful TP on the grid today, well yesterday. An impressive record from Vettel onwards for which Marko takes credit too. However clearing the accusations should not have been done using paid “independent“ investigators.

There is something deeply unsettling at the top of the FIA. After the 2021 fiasco it needed re-enforcing not gagged and defenestrated. In whose interest is this man governing the sport? It’s acting more like a dictatorship. Liberty should make some noise. www.bbc.com/sport/formul...
