🌕 Did you know October’s #fullmoon has a special connection to badgers? 🦡 In #Gaelic, it’s known as Gealach a’ Bhruic, meaning ‘the badger’s moon’. According to #Highland folklore, badgers use the bright moonlight to gather dry grass for their underground homes. 🍂

My standing search on the phrase "stochastic parrots" regularly turns up people labeling it a "thought-terminating cliché". I think maybe they're right, but not the way the think they are: >>

What about live to the Liberal Democrat’s or even the SNP (they have 8 MPs too) Honest to goodness BBC news get a grip

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.

Ćalciland this morning. That's the former goon squad camp in front of the National Assembly in Belgrade. Masked men in black arrived at 7.30pm last night - then legged it when Vučić conceded. The Student List supporters cleared out the camp. For the first time in 18 months, it's safe to walk here.

Naomi has polling evidence, I have trade policy evidence that Made in Europe means the UK being further squeezed out of manufacturing supply chains, and that talking about Freedom of Movement is a response to that.

Naomi Smith@pimlicat.bsky.social

With all this talk about freedom of movement & lazy journos writing up it could hurt Red Wall MPs, I’m resharing my article from early Oct. Playing it safe on EU is riskiest thing Labour can do for those MPs. labourlist.org/2026/10/play...

That deeply reassuring feeling of local communities tackling stuff when the weather gets windy Lots of trees come down here so folk always head out with chainsaws in the boot so roads get cleared quickly (plus people get a bit of firewood) teamwork with anyone also stuck. I’ve done it myself

Don't listen to Jonn - we did this in Edinburgh & I can't tell you how damaging it was. At the time i assumed the warnings - from Airbnb lobbyists who cared nothing for the city - were a load of hysterical shit but it turned out they were right. No one comes to Edinburgh now - it's a ghost town.

🚨 BREAKING: The UK Labour Government have approved the Jackdaw gas field. This a devastating betrayal of future generations. Jackdaw will make the UK even more dependent on the global gas market. This will do nothing to lower household energy bills and it is dishonest to pretend that it will.

Gill Steele reposted

Did the government not just experience the same summer we did? Burning new gas from Jackdaw after thousands died prematurely due to extreme heat just months ago is incomprehensible and, as the govt admits, won’t lower bills. This is the wrong decision.🧵 tinyurl.com/3uu556xr
