Hi Bluesky friends!
I promise I won't do this all the time, but I put together a neat little demo reel of a few projects I've worked on!
If any of you need melodically-rich, (potentially) award-winning music for your games, hit me up!

Gods, this feels so awful.
Some of my favorite stories, favorite gaming experiences came from BioWare.
My most heartfelt sympathies to all my friends affected.

YouTube hasn't paid out music streaming earnings to Distrokid for almost two months with no communication, so my income has been cut in half just for fun. It's a startling reminder that the entire streaming ecosystem could just go away overnight because a tech company lets it. Buy albums if you can.

Come hear me talk about how I put together a score that honors the 60-year history of Star Trek, built an interactive system of interchangeable musical building blocks for different faction matchups, how I produced everything in my basement, and more!
Hope to see you all there. π
I adore this piece--I knew I wanted to publish it in the journal the moment I saw the talk. Congrats to JRM on a fantastic article on a beautiful game score!
Thrilled to have my first scholarly article published in the Journal of Sound and Music in Games!
A delight to get to collaborate with my friend @musicologess.bsky.social to adapt my GDC talk about the musical development of "Tchia" to written form!

So, I've been playing Sulfur (early access, FPS Roguelike), and the way it's structured, I managed to beat the first level boss, victory-return to the home base with all the stuff I'd acquired, and progress through the first biome of the second level and a large way through the second biome...(cont)
All the way having the challenge (and my commensurate strength) ratchet up higher and higher. I keep expecting to hit a boss and return to the overworld again, but *this has not happened*, and my classic roguelike stress grows and grows, the longer I progress, get more cool things, and *do not die*π
UPDATE:
I am meant to USE THE AMULET TO RETURN TO THE OVERWORLD AFTER COMPLETING A ZONE, ahhhhh!
It doesnβt communicate this terribly well, that youβve unlocked a new zone to continue on into OR to return to from the overworld again.
What a strange structure.

Today is the 60th Anniversary of Star Trek, my absolute favorite fictional universe, and the one that consistently brought hope, optimism, and, frankly, gave us a future to strive for, a goal to work towards.
Happy Birthday, Star Trek.
Live long and prosper. π

It's #BandcampFriday, friends!
Allow me, your humble brass sommelier, to suggest something a little "off the beaten path", a little *wild*, even. Yes, it's that one, the one where we gathered our brass and percussion friends and covered DONKEY KONG COUNTRY!

Right before the pandemic, I had the pleasure of writing a score for an exciting cyberpunk-meets-mythology CCG called "Mythgard". It was a small project, but was remarkably well received, and folks really seemed to like the OST.

Well, CICADAMATA is absolutely a "WAKE UP" game, when you're feeling like you're crashing.
I won't say that it makes you feel like you've experienced a fever dream, but wow.
While Zero Company has just been released, Star Wars Outlawsβthe latest SW game that wasn't a remaster, a VR game, or a Monopoly spin-offβcame out exactly two years ago today.
It's too bad there won't be a sequel to the adventures of Kay and ND-5, because I had a really good time with this game.
