Great piece on a bleak trend. Really ridiculous how anyone could look at the problems with games media right now and still blame it on the workers being β€œdumb hacks” or whatever

There's simply no excuse for this. Sucker Punch has delivered two back-to-back acclaimed and high selling games. This team should be safe and celebrated. and yet this industry continues to be fucking demonic.

Couldn't be more thrilled to be the leadoff hitter for Aftermath's latest Inside Baseball week! Honored and elated that one of the worst experiences of my life could become an opportunity to stand among some of the people whose work motivated me to pursue writing, criticism, and journalism.

Some updates to previous pieces. I did end up swapping the trackball of the keychron out for a compatible steel ball bearing. Much better! Still need to find a good compatible lubricant that won’t mess up the electronics though.

Chris Person@papapishu.bsky.social

A while back Keychron announced a bizarre trackball with Gizmodo Japan called the Nape Pro, but it never seemed to materialize in the west. Recently, it went up on Amazon. It's not perfect or precise, but it's one of the oddest devices I've used. For @aftermath.site: aftermath.site/keychron-nap...

I genuinely think those who love video games for what they are and are searching for *somewhere* to call a spade, a spade in this weird era of AI slop, should start looking to @aftermath.site. I'll put it as succinctly as this: giving a shit is a superpower, and they do.

this isn't even just digital hobbies. I've talked about this elsewhere but it's literally even spreading into line dancing. this one choreographer is leveraging his existing respect to grift everybody into playing + streaming his AI slop songs by choreographing to them
