Out of curiosity, what’s your calculus here? How many dead kids would it have to be for Prasad’s collaboration with MAGA to produce a net negative? Did you bother to count?

I don’t know the parties but that quote about RFK is utterly damning. To have written that serious is to expose at best such a failure of judgment that I think it’s appropriate to leave public life over it.

Balloux paid compliments to Kennedy, but threw tantrums at me for trying to warn about him. Balloux found this guy👇 infinitely more reliable than me.

According to Balloux and @michaelsfuhrer.bsky.social, doctors who witnessed this👇 lack "domain expertise" to comment on the pandemic. Only those who experienced it from their couch have any wisdom to share.

This is absurd. The constant, consistent insistence that democracy persists merely because institutions continue to operate flies in the face of both her own evidence and 250 years of American history. This is how a conservative political culture protects itself.

The Economist@economist.com

Despite some anxiety, America is “a resilient democracy”, argues Frances Lee, a professor of politics, in a guest essay. “That resilience rests not on politicians’ restraint but on institutional arrangements that are difficult to manipulate”

Sheltered frauds like Conor have one goal- to numb people to dangerous things and to make them fear harmless things.

How are you still writing this shit www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/...

According to Marty Makary, anyone who doubted we had herd immunity to COVID in May 2021 did so because they *wanted* the pandemic to stretch out longer. Disinformation doctor spread messages of doubt and mistrust for years...

Here’s something you should know about minks: They have lungs and airways remarkably similar on a cellular level to those of people. They’ve spread flus and infected humans before with COVID-19. Right now, bird flu is spreading on a Utah farm filled with thousands of them… 🧵

If things don’t fall apart it will be because of resistance from these institutions. Frances Lee will be taking a victory lap precisely because of the resistance she minimizes. American democracy is in good shape to the extent we ignore voices like hers, who seek to numb us to real threats.

This is what Jay Bhattacharya said in the fall of 2021. Why is he not treating covid as one of 200 diseases? Why is he talking about it still?

People like John Mandrola repeatedly tried to numb people to risks that were dangerous and obviously dangerous- namely Covid and MAHA. Under the guise of being “apolitical” he argued that people were overreacting to Covid and MAHA. Don’t worry. Relax. It will all be fine.

Here’s the maturity and professionalism I received from UCSF professors for warning about Kennedy and the normalization of anti-vaccine ideology. This is the wisdom and sophistication they brought to the table.

There was little doubt that We Want Them Infected would spread to multiple viruses. ☹️

Kulldorff and Bhattacharya were anti-vaccine for young people because older people had more risk. They even wrote that down!

Aug 2020 was just a few months before the vaccine was released. He was still spewing this herd immunity nonsense and I remember asking him, what does protecting the vulnerable via mass infection accomplish when there’s a vaccine coming out in a couple of months. He responded by finally blocking me.
