I've been trying to figure out the best way to do this for a few years now and I think I finally have it! A comic about a disabled hero should be as accessible as our current techologies allow.

While we wait just a few more weeks for Issue 3 I wanted to let you know that Dolorem #1 and #2 now have accessible editions! The EPUB and PDF are included with the digital editions at the Greueth Storehouse: greueth.com/cutworm/dolorem and on Apple Books.

Here is what early readers have said about The Return: "This should be required reading." "Incredible rollercoaster of dread from start to finish." "A unique story and one sure to cause controversy." "Seems like non-fiction instead of fiction." Out now. greueth.com/contraries/t...

One reviewer called it a great book for a book group, and two said the ending caught them off guard. For book clubs, there's a free discussion guide.

Issue 3 of Dolorem, "On Another's Sorrow," is in the final stages of inks and heads to Kemp Studios for colors in the next few weeks. It releases in late September, digital and print. Dolorem also has a new home with the rest of my creative works.

One of my favorite games right now is to hide all the ads and clutter on pages using Safari’s Hide Distracting Elements feature. I often don’t even go back and read through everything again to enjoy my handiwork. I might need to turn this into an app to track my score.

This is not something to encourage. I would regularly remind my students that they were not bothering me with questions and that it was my job to help them and they should feel free to ask me whenever they needed support. This post makes me sad.

Maria (8th grade): “I’m not a student who likes to bother my teacher, so having Khanmigo to help without having to bug the teacher is helpful.” Maya (6th grade) agrees, adding the tool “ helps you get the answer without giving you the answer.” @rweingarten.bsky.social @aftnewjersey.bsky.social

Was listening to my son tell me about the importance and investment his school puts in Chromebooks and I have yet to hear one story about how they have improved his learning. When I started testing AI tools for writing curriculum it seemed natural to start with an ELA course. I struggled with AI submissions as a teacher and I wanted to see how far I could push myself with these tools. Here's how Creative Writing Through Dungeons & Dragons came about...

There are teacher slideshows, what I currently think of for AI-resistant performance tasks, UDL, SEL, SPED + ELL scaffolds, Common Core ELA, NSQ, and WCAG 2.2 AA alignment. There are teacher guidance and pacing documents. All the bells and whistles I could think of from over 25 years of teaching.

I am releasing this because it is the small version of what I build on contract. If your district or online program needs standards-aligned, accessible, AI-aware curriculum in another subject, or this one adapted to your context, let's talk.

So here it is. I turned it into an ELA course (HS or MS) and released it under Creative Commons BY-NC. Free. Yours to adapt. You can access with the link. Aside from the course there are backup files for #Moodle and Common Cartridge (.imscc) for any LMS.

I thought about the way those stories build through something like D&D but most don't have experience with it, so the name of the course itself is really just a framework for the concepts. No prior D&D knowledge or products needed. Stories evolve and characters make choices.

There's even an interactive RPG students can play that walks them through the course curriculum and generates reports for teachers if they want to do it that way. They're still writing, but in that instance, they are interacting with NPCs and learning about the writing process.

I know a lot of students claim that they don't want to write. But I do know they want to tell stories. Students who can paste a prompt into a chatbot in three seconds will not put a lot of effort into a personal narrative unit unless the work itself is worth showing up for.

They should at least be getting the Department of Health and Human Services dietary guidelines by having “a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, a corn tortilla and one other thing.”

I just saw someone toasting an English muffin without having the inside cuts facing each other in the toaster slots and I can’t stop thinking about it. Wondering if I should report it to the front desk of the hotel.
