Anyone I follow know much about going to the San Siro? General tips welcome but I have a specific question: Reddit suggests food at ground is very good, but is any of it vegetarian? 🥴 we’re going to Inter v Fiorentina tomorrow lunchtime

I’ve designed and built a theme for @ghost.org called Plain Text, made for writers who want a quiet, typographically refined reading experience. Before I submit it to the marketplace I’d love to find a tester or two. If you run a Ghost site (or know someone who does) and want to try, let me know?

Fellow & Firkin, 1997 (aka Wellhead Tavern aka The Hare of the Dog). Love this pic which I took while learning to use an SLR and print my own photos. You’ll know this pub if you went to UCE/BCU or if you go to #avfc and used to walk over from Perry Barr station or make use of the uni car park

Bit of a niche one but When you drive on the M42 and Google Maps asks, innocently, “are the roadworks still there?” Yes mate. They are. They will be there til long after you and I die.

Uncertainty over Bond casting means it’s time for the English Cricket Board to put Question Time on hold, according to FaceTime.

Annoyingly the clip cuts off a bit of it but you get the gist. Ed’s protestation about rules is quite funny because of course Richard was in the lovely sweet spot of not having been given the talk yet. Like his Traitor elect period

I dunno man, if I was a journalist and confidentally posted a quote of Unai saying something devastating (and objectively wrong) about his own players, I'd be double checking it.

Jon Hickman reposted

Lol this BBC journo has done Unai dirty here with this fake quote and also hallucinated a player. Can't tell what's more depressing, this just being the standard of writing at the BBC or if it's just someone popping a transcript into ChatGPT and going "yeah that'll do."

I’m a (shut the fuck up, it’s true) way off 50 yet but 50th birthday parties are pretty cool cos you can have a sit down and nobody frowns if you have a glass of water some rounds and there’s cake and the bar calls last orders a bit early and now I’m having a cup of tea and watching my stories

The Your Friends & Neighbours funeral episode (For Everything Else, There Was Bowling) enters the canon of great TV episodes about losing folk. It’s no Halt & Catch Fire “Goodwill” or Buffy’s “The Body” but it’s reaching up there.

Was somewhat surprised to even be here today the way the first two days went, even more surprised to _still_ be here at lunch time …but now won’t be surprised if Saturday ticket holders get at least a session tomorrow.

P.S. Search for lads in 1979 Handsworth photo project: as Derek Bishton plans to have the photographs printed in a book, he has managed to track down the majority of the participants except two, who were boys at the time. Someone must know these two. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Sounds like a skills issue

My kid has adopted my favorite beer glass as his favourite water glass and because he starts drinking water earlier in the day than I would have a beer it’s basically no longer mine.

Pal just sent me a link to the potential groomsmen suite for his wedding. Fuck me. How the web done fell. I know this sort of shite is table stakes at this point but that doesn’t make it less tragic.

For All Mankind series 5 is _very_ soapy isn’t it? I think maybe the alternate history schtick was hiding this tendency from me all along in the first 4 seasons but now it’s so unmoored from our timeline it’s much plainer. Still enjoying it all tho.

Natalie Portman / Tanguy Destable sounds like a UEFA Conference League fixture you’d probably not tune in for at 5:45pm on TNT.

Missed an important part of this review, not that you care: thought Barkley was off in the summer, and would have been fine with it, but he’s running the show isn’t he? Marvellous lad.

#avfc missed Torres today, I think. The CB pairing didn’t have the energy or vision to move the ball like he does (much as I love those two goofs). Not sure Garnacho is the answer to anything but if he is I didn’t hear the question. Love my new keeper. And we go again.

The weirdest thing in culture I’ve spotted this summer is that without warning Eggs Benedict are now “Eggs Benny”. I saw this in Canada, just assumed it was a cute Canadian thing. But then I came back and it’s all over menus in the UK too. And no longer cute.

I’ve worked remotely for like 9 years so I’ve tended to skip bank holiday Mondays (allowed to take em but they were out of my leave allocation, and Monday was always an awkward day to take off). Bank Holiday Mondays are pretty dope. It took skipping lots of them to appreciate that. 😎🍻

Once a year I manage to get someone on the internet to try making Gâche Mélée, a very non-photogenic, but delicious apple cake 0.5lb butter+1lb sugar creamed together Add 2 eggs & beat Fold in 1lb flour, 1tsp ginger, 1tsp cinnamon Fold in 3lb sliced apples Bake 170C/gas 3 for 1.5-2hrs Enjoy 🇬🇬
