Walmart spent $35.3B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2024, enough to give each of its 2.2M employees annual bonuses of $2,719. Last year, Walmart CEO Doug McMillon pocketed $27.4M — 930x the company's median employee pay of just $29,469. Textbook corporate greed.

At a time of massive inequality, Trump's budget is breathtaking in its degree of cruelty. It slashes funding for health care, housing & education that the working class desperately needs in order to pay for more tax breaks for billionaires & the Pentagon. That is morally obscene.

You can turn it off. There’s an off button.

Mark Zuckerberg argued this week the user always knows best when it comes to relationships with bot companions. But lots of people don't even feel in control of their relationship with Instagram www.platformer.news/mark-zuckerb...

We’re organizing to save health care. Did you know it only takes four Republicans in Congress to stop the GOP bill to cut Medicaid? Let’s start with Tom Barrett, Don Bacon, Mike Lawler, and Brian Fitzpatrick.

Well, they’re stupid. And I hope they do squirm to be made fun of for it.

“The only thing that even seems to drive the folks who voted for him out of their self-centered lives of vacation selfies and bare-chested guns and ammo pics, is when they take umbrage for being called stupid for voting not once but three times for the most corrupt and criminal man in America.”

Happy May Day to workers everywhere!! I’m so proud to have been a union member and union rep in my career, because worker solidarity is the root of all progress. Every worker deserves safety, security, and prosperity, and unionization, banding together, is how we deliver that promise.

After years of unprecedented opportunity thanks to labor, we’re now seeing protections for workers and laborers gutted. On May Day I am proud to stand with workers across the country to protect labor rights.

Trump's comment that kids will have to sacrifice for tariffs, and get "3 dolls" instead of "30 dolls," betrays the fact that he actually believes the economy was great under Biden. 30 dolls sounds like a booming economy!

They tried that garbage on us post-911 and it didn’t work. This country is still a dump and no amount of prostrating in front of a flag or dear leader will change that.

it is fun to read profiles of this guy which play him up as some diabolical mastermind and then watch him in action and see a huge loser

May Day is not officially acknowledged in the U.S. because of what historians say is an ongoing resistance to unity among the working class. This resistance is prompting protesters to take action on Thursday, regardless.

We are living in one of the few times in human history where you can buy a loaf of bread and if it says it’s made with wheat flour and salt and yeast and water and nothing else, it’s probably made from just those ingredients, and some people want to END this.

A reminder that every small bit of good you do - whether it be putting art into the world, helping a friend or stranger, donating to a good cause, or just listening to someone who needs to vent - offsets all the evil in the world just a little bit. And sometimes that's just what the world needs.
