One thing they don’t tell you about book festivals as a vendor is that you slowly morph into a bastion amongst hundreds, or even thousands, of people in a matter of hours and then you’re locked into your curated universe among many other pocket universes and that’s magic baby

Yesterday, I wrapped up my genre-bending, apocalyptic novel, MEAT DEPOT, and gave it a colophon. It took me just under 3 years to get here from literally nothing. Had a fat steak burrito to celebrate. It was also a nice anniversary. Happy 65th heavenly birthday, Mom.
