Neighbor not seen before stopped yesterday. Said they were considering leaving the state for a lower cost of living. Being the crone I’ve become, I held her here with a fact check on what one loses when leaving this state and the cultural and political surprises she would face. Can’t help myself.

Woman stopped by to chat while I worked as she has many times before. Usual conversation until she saw my lawn sign supporting someone running for city council, a non partisan office (although we know everything is partisan). Said nice talking to you and walked away. And they call us snowflakes.

Love this rose so much. Hope it likes it‘s new spot. Sun slams house but not yard for the most part so not great for roses, very frustrating. Worked expanding front bed yesterday for the 3 T got for me but will take at least another day. And a full charge on reciprocating saw. And more chocolate.

In Soc 101 I learned that something like 70-80% of welfare recipients were white women, who received benefits for generally only 2-4 years. That's not "welfare dependency." That's women who found out they'd been "one man away from poverty" & had to retrain for the workforce to feed their kids.

Ellie has lost .2 pounds. Not using prescription food but carefully measuring each meal to reduce amounts. AI helped by counting the calories. Really had no idea she’d gained so much. All I see is lusciousness. Husband gives her the hydration broths at 5am, said she tried to eat the plate. My girl.🥰

T went to Otto’s and per my request brought me 3 twilight zones. She’s taking my Henry Fondas from the front planter for the back of her garden where only the gorgeous flowers will be visible because the bushes themselves are ugly. I’ll replace with the twilights here. Oh gods. Why do I do this. 😢
