The Nikon EM was my first camera (well after the Brownie). Bought as a seventh grader from Bi-Mart with pocket money from assembling trophies. It was $150, less than this used price 😂

Newly landed in the Used Dept! :) #Nikon #NikonEM #Canon #CanonFD #CanonAE1 #FilmPhotography

Used the Canon AE-1 as photographer for the Junior High newspaper. Great memories of that and the darkroom.

After three months I have the two goofs to hang out at our favorite dumpling shop in Sai Kung #vizsla #rescuedog

Took a break from taking photos about 4 am and stepped into a McDonalds for coffee and free wifi to watch college football as one does. 2/3 of "customers" had not purchased a thing and were happily sleeping.

Weighs cost of hotel room vs bank account and bonus of a night out taking photos. Option #2 looking forward to it.

When the storms come the yellow helmeted reporters deploy but despite the drama, friends we are safe.

I’m just going to pick up some veggies to cook for dinner. Forgot about typhoon panic buying 🙃

One more from yesterday's hike of Taipei Grand Trail sec 3 when we decided to bail due to visibility 😅 #hiking

Section 3 of the Grand Taipei Trail done w Bob today, sec 4 next. Beautiful although visibility was challenging towards the end 😅 #hiking #taiwan

The trail is an amazing public/private initiative. We have done 3/8 sections. If you'd like to read more here is the official website taipeigrandtrailen.gov.taipei If you are interested in tackling it I'm happy to share resources/advice or even join you for a section.

The shop got off to a great start but then inventory kind got out of hand #streetphotography #photography

Baby you can drive my car, I’ll make you a KTV Superstar #streetphotography #photography #taiwan

I consider myself a fairly compassionate & empathetic person, but the more I read about people in this particular demographic -- wealthy Gen X white men radicalized by social media & group chats -- the more I loathe them. I understand them *too well* to sympathize. They are contemptible & weak.

Misogyny is a hell of a drug

NEW: Yup, Lane Kiffin painted the visiting locker room in Tiger Stadium pink. #LSU But will it actually affect visiting teams when they come to Baton Rouge? I investigated that question here: www.nola.com/sports/lsu/l...

Now for something a little different. 🍂 Over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, I went for a walk and was lucky enough to catch the salmon still making their run here in #Toronto. Watching them push upstream was a powerful reminder that while the current may be strong, purpose is stronger. 🐟💪

This. And if you have ever had someone see your pain and recognize it as such instead of judging. More Abduls in the world, more seeing and less look at me.

There is a moment at the very very end of Abdul El-Sayed's podcast with Ezra Klein (book recommendation section) where he talks about the idea of "speaking truth to pain" and this will be staying with me for an extremely long time. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/25/o...

Whoever is arranging the revolving wall photo exhibits at the Hong Kong FCC is doing a great job - now they have Katharina Hesse’s often stark yet poetic portraits. On till October 31….

There are those who want to be seen and then those who just want to see

VIVIAN MAIER was a Nanny for 40yrs who unbeknownst to anyone spent her free time taking over 150,000 photos of whatever interested her. 2yrs before she died her photos were found in a lock up she’d failed to keep up payments on and her decades of incredible work suddenly exploded upon the world.
