According to him there was an implicit deal in the 90s between Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C. where government would leave tech alone, keep taxes low, and startups and EA in return would build a better world. He says D.C. broke its side of the bargain but he has that exactly backwards as well.

Tech bros in Silicon Valley were huge supporters of W bush in 99-2000 too. It wasn’t as overt as the Trump inauguration but pretty close. The idea that they were ever libs is very misguided.

It’s just tragic who the most powerful people in America are. So many of them are not just living in their own deranged world, they’re actively shitting into the river upstream from the rest of us.

Poor guy.... "RAWRGHHH! It's ______'s fault for making me this way. If not for _____ making me big sad, I'd be a compassionate beacon for the betterment of mankind instead of the miserable grievance monster I am today!"

I assume he's mad because he's just a broken man and despite all of their effort all of the kings horses and all of the kings men couldn't put him back together again...

Why is this true of so many of them - they sit atop the structures they created, yet are the most miserable SOBs around. Look at Musk - the world's richest man is also one of the unhappiest.
