Tired of late stage capitalism. But also, I like to kayak weekly if the lake isn’t frozen. And I think Elon Musk is pathetic fucken loser. 🙂 Update: Charlie Kirk was an asshole. He made a career out of selling hate. Always punch up, not down.

Mile 598 of 599 for the year, last night. Surprised to see what cameras can do these days. It looked like the moon was putting a spotlight at the edge of the lake.

Finally upgraded my camera and did this little nature doc for my nephews. Oh by the way, a bunch of assholes are attacking this year’s olive harvest worse than ever before. They’re destroying lives/livelyhoods by burning trees thousands of years old.

Much respect on that last bit. Please accept the above cat pics from the airport there as tribute. If you think of hole in the wall gems I should check out when we go back, feel free to comment below. 😃

Also in the market for solid travel trips from Cairo to Luxor. There’s going be a wicked eclipse there next August. Looking at putting together a budget backpacking trip. Bonus points. 😁

My primary thought, as southern Republicans drop all pretense and scramble to grab more power, is that if the rot runs deeper than we thought, so must the needed reforms.

I really wonder what the fallout is going to be because the sanitized version of history they’ve sold for a long time is “Jim Crow was a shameful moment in history but we defeated it and came out the other side a better country” and now it’s just… back it’s the end of a myth in the starkest terms

I came to Vieques, PR for a couple hours a few years ago and came back. Playa Caracas (Red Beach) is what I zoomed in on at the end. If you don’t like cold weather. Puerto Rico is a 4 hour flight from PHL. Vieques takes a bit more effort, but worth the trip. Tip well, and be nice.

It shouldn’t take a slur that impacts you personally, or losing your healthcare or SNAP, or being forced to sell your farm, or having to watch a loved one get unjustly detained and deported...to walk away from a madman. Cruelty isn’t strength. Reject it. Always.

Trump is throwing 15 million Americans off health care. He's doubling premiums for 20 million Americans. Now, he's refusing to use a $5 billion emergency SNAP fund to keep 16 million kids from going hungry. But the 1% keep $1 trillion in tax breaks. Oligarchy in action.

U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis just took the bench in this lawsuit over the use of force against ICE protesters in Chicago.

U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis is set to hold a hearing in this case at 8:30 am CT. Unclear why she called it (it was before the filing below). DISCLAIMER: The Chicago Newspaper Guild is a plaintiff. I’m a member but not an officer, and I’ve had no involvement in the suit (other than covering it).

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion. The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion. Read that back. When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

I'm sorry but it's just wild we are in the middle of a government shutdown and the House Republicans are REFUSING TO SHOW UP FOR WORK so they can protect billionaire pedophiles and billionaire tax breaks.

CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1 CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1 CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 280-to-1 Trickle-down economics was always a sham. Nothing has ever trickled down.

Californian Redwood Giant Sequoia - planted in eastern Pennsylvania. It will probably be my single greatest positive contribution to humanity. You can order them online and they’ll ship out in good shape. I’d encourage anyone to try it out. There’s a 150 year old forest growing in England.👍

You are up to date.
