Permanent Daylight Saving Time would make winter mornings too dark. Health and safety need the morning light of permanent Standard Time.

Seriously, this *matters*, to mental & physical health…’easing communication’ between NYC & Chicago is not the buff play it once seemed

Daylight Saving Time outside of summer makes mornings dark, depressing, and dangerous. Morning is when sunlight is most needed. Restore permanent Standard Time!

I’m tired of changing the clocks twice a year. Go back to standard time and stay there. It’s more natural to have the sun directly overhead at noon, and it’s better for our circadian rhythms.

Remind your congress members that permanent Daylight Saving Time has failed before—only permanent Standard Time can last! www.votervoice.net/ditchDST/Cam...

Odds are they will come to regret not having Standard Time.

Dr Sue Peters speaking on the Restoring American Wellness podcast about the common mis-association of Daylight Saving Time with summer:

I've been saying this my entire life since childhood and I'm just starting my 80th year. It's about "time" folks figured out Daylight Sucker Time was about being chumped into the Corporate power structure con game. Take your power back and don't just give it away. Use technology to make life better.

If Daylight Saving Time were named “wake an hour early time”, no one would do it.

“Every winter, Americans lose warmth at exactly the time they need it most. Meanwhile millions of degrees go unused each summer. Heat Saving Temperature shifts 60 degrees of warmth into the winter months, when families are home to enjoy them…” americansforwarmerwinters.org

americansforwarmerwinters.orgGive American families 60 more degrees of winter warmthHeat Saving Temperature moves thermometers ahead 60 degrees from November 1 through March 31, shifting warmth into the months when Americans need it most.

They might not even mention your concern in what they write back to you, but they do keep a tally of how many people contacted them expressing opinions for/against each issue.

9am in mid-October and it's just barely light outside. In the past I'd have been counting down to the time change for a reprieve; in a better future, I'd be on standard time year-round. Instead I get neither. Let me say again just how much I hate life on permanent DST! @savestandard.bsky.social

In macOS 27, Apple’s move of the app switcher to appear in whichever display has the mouse pointer, rather than staying in the default display with the dock, is dizzying my eyes.

I tried to adapt to this new behavior, and it’s causing too much eye strain. I found a way to revert it: defaults write com.apple.dock appswitcher-dock-display -bool true && killall Dock

Crash was shortly after 6am EDT, which is just when nighttime darkness ended. Sunrise came over an hour later at 7:21am EDT. 😔 With permanent Standard Time, sunrise would have been 6:21am EST, everyone would’ve had more light and likely more sleep. We see crashes every October.

Mr Jay Pea reposted

@savestandard.bsky.social An example, We're still on DST here near Santa Fe New Mexico USA, and on the day after the Fall solstice the sunrise was at approximately 7 am and the sunset at approximately 7 pm. Noon came 5 hours after sunrise and sunset came 7 hours after noon.

Congress likes catchy sales-pitch names for their bills. If you were to name a bill for permanent Standard Time in Congress, what would you name it?

While NOT listening to Albertans, Minister Nally gaslights that he will always listen to Albertans.

Save Standard Time@savestandard.bsky.social

“Stakeholders more frequently shared a preference for Standard Time instead… In a 2021 referendum, Albertans voted against permanent DST…” 🚨 Why are Minister Dale Nally and Premier Danielle Smith ignoring health, safety, economic concerns, and the public will?

Permanent DST has been tried and repealed twice. It cost Florida children’s lives when last tried. Only permanent Standard Time has lasted for decades and without harm.

The argument for DST is driven on profits. Studies have shown it has a negative impact on our health. We should join Arizona and Hawaii in permanent Standard Time. Study suggests most Americans would be healthier without daylight saving time med.stanford.edu/news/all-new...

The logical corollary is that schools start later. But then work needs to start later (which is good from a commute safety perspective too). Or....maybe just stay on Standard time so it all works out!

Are you following this account yet? One more thing that requires citizen action is a nationwide return to only standard time, all year long. Biology and psychology insist!

Save Standard Time@savestandard.bsky.social

On this day in 1954: Most clocks in central Kentucky “fall back” to Standard Time. Daylight Saving Time darkens mornings, which burdens schools and families.
