Commenting on defunding NPR, I just heard @hcrichardson.bsky.social (with @jimacosta.bsky.social) suggest that we have an opportunity for independent voices to rise up and help fill the gap, and that's what helped save our Democracy in the 1850's and 1890's. That's so hopeful, and I'm here for it.
