Is it weird that Scotty having 10 fingers in this art bothers me? Star Trek never drew attention to it, but James Doohan lost a finger on D-Day. It feels a little hollow to have the art style for this set so focused on capturing the actors’ likenesses only to miss that sort of detail.

Amazon says I don’t have a preference for sparkling water brands, except I also prefer Liquid Death, except I also prefer Nixie. Very consistent, Amazon.

Amazon users are discovering a bizarre "About You" page that reveals what the company thinks it knows about them One woman found Amazon had determined she "has flat buttocks"

We had an unexpected visitor drop by last night. Thankfully there was no olfactory evidence of their visit, but I’m really not keen on the idea of a skunk hanging around. Especially if it manages to find its way into the backyard while the dogs are out there.

Started playing Pokémon Crystal in preparation of the impending Bank shutdown. Figured if I was going to do this, it was now or never. Anyway, Shiny Time Onion acquired!

The Ocarina of Time remake dropping the day after I’m supposed to have my surgery is weirdly fortuitous timing. Depending on how strong my pain medication is I may not be able to start immediately, but I definitely will have something to occupy me during recovery!

I suppose I should post a personal life update eventually. I’ve been seeing a cardiologist for some time now, and this year I was officially diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I had a defibrillator surgically installed last month, and am scheduling heart surgery for this November.

I’ve got another round of diagnostics before my surgeon can confirm, but I’m probably going to be a candidate for a less invasive robotic surgery. I was referred to a surgeon in Texas who is supposed to be an expert in this condition, so my recovery is involving a little bit of travel.

My wife started a support page where she has been posting more regular updates. While we have enabled donations, our financial situation hasn’t gotten so dire that I’m comfortable begging into the void just yet; but it is a good summary of where I’ve been so far. www.supportnow.org/justin-lacy

This may be my most unpopular gaming opinion, but I do not like Xenoblade Chronicles’ gameplay. The soundtrack is amazing, but I have given the game itself multiple chances and have yet to actually enjoy interacting with it.

We in the US measure time in Presidential administrations. When people talk about the Clinton era, for example, that evokes a specific Therefore, our country began on April 30, 1789 and we should adjust our celebrations to match.

It’s Video Game Night at the baseball park tonight, and they’ve got a whole arcade here! That being said, the glare on these screens right now made it very hard to actually play.

One thing I really like about the upcoming Star Fox 64 remake that they’ve shown is that there’s actually a hint toward the alternate boss in Corneria. It always bugged me that of all the game’s missions, the most obtuse was the one in the very first level.

I recall seeing a clip from Sector Y earlier and it reframes that one as a competition with Falco. Which is good, as it has zero context in the original, but at least there you still have a pretty good chance at just stumbling into it.

I don’t like that Final Fantasy Resonance is doing the nostalgia-bait thing where it pulls in old characters as summons, but it’s a Final Fantasy title that appears to use a take on the classic battle system and honestly at this point I’ll take it.

Did they open a little late for weather-related purposes? Sure. But was the grand opening event the best ramen I’ve ever had? Also very, very, yes. The flavor from the beef was perfectly mirrored in the broth, which was in turn absorbed by the noodles. Every bite was pure magic.

My favorite ramen place is opening a new location, and it’s much closer to me. I greatly appreciate their decision to do this right before soup weather fully hits.

I drove past a restaurant called “China Chef” the other day and I still cannot mentally reconcile that the “ch” in each word makes a different sound. My brain wants it to phonetically match so badly.

Do I intend to purchase Star Fox (2026)? Yes. Do I think it’s a problem that half the games in this franchise are retellings of the same event? Also yes.

Getting a random YouTube alert for a Nintendo Star Fox direct was probably the least likely way I expected today to end, but it’s certainly not the worst!

Is there a single character, in all of fiction, who has a more skewed ratio of face recognition to name recognition than Grogu? Is there one that even comes close?

I do love seeing the overlap of Pokémon and Ghost Trick fans after the reveal of the new Pomeranian starter. And yes, I’ll be naming mine “Missile” as well.

It feels a little soon to be getting another Water Lizard starter. Like they’re calling a mulligan on Sobble or something.

I’m going to choose to believe Chris Hemsworth wasn’t acting and is the only person involved in Super Bowl commercials with a reasonable attitude toward AI.

This might be Artemis’ first snow, at least her first significant one. It’s the first one she’s had with us at least, and I don’t think we had anything too heavy last winter. I don’t think she quite knows what to make of it.

Happy birthday to these six puppies! Hard to believe it’s been a whole year. Also feels weird in the original post that I’m not referring to Artemis by her name, but we hadn’t officially planned to adopt her ourselves at that point (even though we were both thinking it).

I’m happy to report that the dog gave birth to a healthy litter of six puppies today! She seems to be adjusting fairly well to being a mama, all things considered.

We got the mythical cheap first class upgrade on this trip. Not sure what all I was expecting, but in addition to the roomier seat with nicer tray, they’re more generous with the drink and snack services as well. Wouldn’t spend the money to do this every time, but the difference is substantial.

Remember a few years back where a woman went viral for being horny for the Grinch, and insisted it was actually a very common thing? I’m glad to see she was able to get a job with McDonald’s.

“Hey, we should make a remote controlled flying toy of Sonic the Hedgehog.” “Oh, the guy who often gets carried around by his friend who flies by spinning his tails like a helicopter? Great idea!” “Yeah, I figured we’d have him in a standing pose with rotors growing out of his head.”

I love how we just get random drops of new Homestar Runner content once or twice a year with relatively minimal fanfare. Just casually releasing a new Strong Bad Email in 2025, as though it’s the most normal thing in the world.
