@sameoldcity.bsky.social so, with the Big Johnson's lovely volley, I was wondering about centre halves who have also played as forwards, and vice versa. Medley (obviously) and Marc Sertori, anyone else?
GB News is launching GB Music Radio, a 24-hour digital station only playing artists from Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on 2 November. Chief revenue officer Ross Sergeant said this "gives advertisers something genuinely new". radiotoday.co.uk/2026/10/gb-m...
@sameoldcity.bsky.social our first game back after Mills' promotion was against Wycombe, I *think* it was a 1-2 defeat at home.
The Rodman og was in the second half of the season I think, and it was a quality strike- albeit at the wrong end
@sameoldcity.bsky.social realistically, we all knew it was on the cards, but hearing about Capt'n Callum has really hit me like a blow to the stomach, feel really quite emosh. Go well, sweet prince
Fiiiinally got round to watching Isle of Dogs. Wes Anderson may not be your cup of tea, but I bloody love him. Sure, he's no Spike Lee or Ken Loach, but he presents a wonderful slice of visually stunning lovelyness *every* time, and sometimes that's what you need from a movie
Watching the old snooker, and Wu Yize has got *the* biggest hands- and they look mad, the only way I can describe it, is its like AI has made them. This photo (from a previous match) doesn't quite do it justice, but it's the best I could do
I remember reading a piece by @jim.londoncentric.media when we were last in the league, about the lack of oomph there seemed to be around #YCFC after we'd been promoted. He made the valid points that everyone had been united in the drive to get out of the conference, but once we'd done it...
The ownership of the club can't be ignored either- after all, McGill was also one of those fans who were after a return to the good old days. Uggla is a recent convert, and his vision isn't impeded by our history....
Ultimately though, and I guess this my point- I'm glad I got there eventually- it feels different this time.
League titles always seemed like they were something for other teams, and York might squeeze through in the playoffs, but now we actually as massive as we always thought we were #york#ycfc

we were where we wanted to be, and there was a lack of anything to fight for, and that we were probably in our natural position- towards the bottom of L2. It feels different this time...
Last time, most of our fans had grown up with us as a #efl club, and just wanted a return of what was rightfully ours- a seat at the table of 92. This time, the fan based has grown massively whilst we were in non-league- our average attendance must be three times higher than it was pre-COVID...
OHMYGOD, I've not watched any of I'm a Celeb until tonight, but that fight amongst the runners-up is going to be on When TV Goes Horribly Wrong some time soon #ImACeleb
@sameoldcity.bsky.social wait, did Ben just say "I could care less"? I love the pod, but am seriously considering crowd funding the million to make it all stop
We should start removing the citizenship of weasels like this. If you don’t like paying your taxes and want to live in another country, fine, go, but you won’t be getting back in
RFK JR: One time, Trump grabbed a placemat, turned it over, took a Sharpie, and drew a perfect map of the Middle East. Then he marked the troop strength of every country along each border on that map. It challenged a lot of the assumptions I had been told about him.
