I don’t mind “soft Republicans” or former Republicans in the big tent. More the merrier. But the constant fetishizing of former Republicans (many of profiting off that narrative) is getting stale.

I’m sorry, what? Publish the whole guest list. That the fact that 200 “rich and powerful” people gather every year to celebrate the birthday of a traitor and a racist? paging madame defarge

NEW: Kristi Noem is facing by far the most credible impeachment effort of Trump's 2nd term. Some House Dems are fuming. "Noem is just soup du jour," one told @axios.com. "It's all performative bullsh*t." Centrists say they want to focus on affordability. www.axios.com/2026/01/14/k...

So given a choice between fascism and no fascism, these brave visionaries leap to their feet to proclaim, “Wait! There is a Third Way!”

I’ll never be on team ezra. his judgement has been highly suspect on many occasions. the major disqualifier is the fact that he continued to stan Paul Ryan even after Krugman took the economics apart. https://www.splinter.com/ezra-klein-admits-his-endless-flattery-of-paul-ryan-may-1830987574

We need a "disempowerment" program for people like Musk and Ackman, rather than an "empowerment" program for anyone else bsky.app/profile/davi...

What a nightmare! Chinese astronauts can’t come home because space debris hit their return craft. The rapidly increasing amount of stuff we launch into space is something everyone should be aware of.

NEW: I’m calling on Trump to cancel private jet flights instead of commercial airlines. Private jet flights often take a single billionaire passenger, but still put real strain on our air traffic control system.

here’s a dynamic i’ve noticed and maybe other people can weigh in on it i am the only subject matter expert in my field at my company, and our central product is entirely within that domain. when the money folks approach me with an idea for the product, they always listen to me… 1/x

at least, not when the dollar signs are big enough. if i do anything like that, they just skip me and tell the customer “sure” because maybe it’ll work and expected value and whatever god forbid i mention any past advice when they do argue with me - same thing 4/x

it’s the same dynamic as say, the Iraq war i was right too early all the facts, all the history, all the analysis is on my side on their side is money which side wins?

…as long as i tell them it will work. if i tell them it won’t if i list all the reasons it will fail if i tell it violates the laws of physics if i tell them it violates basic math then its still full steam ahead, because money money money 2/x

when the idea crashes and burns, which so far they always have, there is no room for “i told you so” saying that, reviewing the arguments i made, doing anything other than pretending i was all in and just as disappointed does not work because money people don’t learn from experience 3/x

I hope it’s become evident that corporate news will partner with fascists to attack the Left because literally our history is the story of how the wealth class use their political and media organs to ensure all Leftists are demonized and crushed. That’s the whole ballgame.

I am very annoyed by people who tell me how chatgpt thinks i should do my job. No, I don’t do it that way because it’s a stupid way to do it, and oh by the way that reference you included to “explain the pipeline” was a 2018 paper on string theory
