Senet is by far the best board game purchase I make every year. They put so much effort into everything they do and seeing it arrive in the mail every few months is such a highlight. A subscription is the perfect gift for every gamer.

The number that always gets tossed around for a "good" boardgame as a GeekRating on BGG is 7.0. I think that's BS. BGG users skew heavier games as better (just look at the top 100). 3 of my top 9 games are 6s! Don't forget about them. Do you have a game you love that's rated under 7?

@mossmouth.bsky.social Time Barons is one of the most underrated civ games out there. My copy is one of my most prized board games. It even survived a howler monkey attack in Costa Rica (well almost). Someone should definitely republish this classic.

Finished my second campaign of #Arcs. We had intergalactic pirates rescuing refugees scattered by a zealous planet breaker, to only then die defending their hidden treasure, at the hands of a former admiral of the evil empire who went mad talking to space mushrooms. Epic.
