I’ve taken a break from this app b/c the impending doom I’ve felt has been overwhelming. But today has come anyway, much as it pains me to acknowledge it. So here we are, together on this app. With a nod to some of my fav fictional warriors “And now my watch begins”.

There is no way to cut $2.5T in spending unless you make cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. My parent’s social security check should not be cut to pay for President Elon Musk’s massive billionaire tax cuts.

I'm glad that my summary of my biographical research into Elon Musk has gone viral on multiple social media platforms (see my pinned post if you haven't already). It's extremely dangerous that so many people in America—including in our media—don't yet know the harrowing story of who Musk is. I do.

I think this should be kind of a big deal: Elon Musk tweeting at 1:03am, “Only the AfD can save Germany.” The AfD is Germany’s neo-Nazi party.

In 2017, we had only 6 Democratic trifecta states. In 2025, we’ll have 15. And we control even more mayorships and city councils. There’s enormous opportunity to go on offense in states and cities to protect residents and offer a safe-haven to red state residents under threat: indivisible.org/guide

Given the killing of the UHC CEO, I’m reminded of this excerpt “Monkeywrenching can also be seen as a sophisticated political tactic that dramatizes issues and places them before the public when they otherwise would be…

Taken from Confessions of an Eco-Warrior by Dave Foreman. Although written about environmental resistance, it applies universally in that extreme actions allow discourse to occur with what otherwise would be considered “extremists”. The latter now seem reasonable and worth negotiating with.

ignored in the media, applies pressure to corporations & government agencies that otherwise are able to resist “legitimate” pressure from law-abiding organizations, & broadens the spectrum of activism so that lobbying by mainstream groups is not considered “extremist.”

Yes, we need to stay informed but I’d like to see less content discussing every lie he tells & wacky thing he’s done & focus on what’s being done by elected officials to prepare where we can & strategy for mid-terms & beyond to expand our base, and what all of us are doing individually.

So when we remove birthright citizenship can we go by the mother? Because: Don Jr was born in 1977 Ivanka was born in 1981 Eric was born in 1984 Ivana became a US citizen in 1988. Barron was born in March 2006 Melania became a US citizen in July 2006. Trump’s entire family would be deported.

Good morning everyone. Posting this again because there are some great “take action” ideas in here for anyone stuck in the “but what can we DO” phase. It can feel overwhelming but pick one or two things that speak to you and jump in. Doing anything is better than hand-wringing so let’s get busy!

1 of 12/ Rainbows and Reality - 4 things are needed for a rainbow to exist: A. A light source (e.g., The Sun, etc.) B. Refracting medium (e.g., rain droplets in the air) C. Eye that perceives color (or color capable camera) D. The proper angle association of the above three

Good morning all! Try not to walk next to a billionaire who got rich off the suffering of others today. It seems the “little people” are getting restless and guns are plentiful.

If you grew up in America, you grew up being fed the propaganda that 'Capitalism is Democracy' and 'Democracy is Capitalism' (late stage capitalism). If you haven't already, do your utmost to extricate this utter BS from every neuron in your mind.

Take notes everyone. Coming soon to America and I hope we have the fortitude to resist like this.

A Woman fights off a soldier in front of the parliament building in South Korea.

R’s have used what were supposed to be desirable traits against D’s (integrity, honor, empathy, decency). I’m not saying we should jump all the way into the mud to fight, but we should at least go waist deep and push right up to the line where decent meets ruthless.

I'm at the National Assembly building. The army is here. And I just saw two soldiers in fatigues getting pushed around by belligerent ajusshis. and they looked legit scared.

What does one do during the holidays when they’ve stopped associating with their entire trump voting family? Asking for a friend.

I put in two 4x8 raised garden beds just before the election. Planted starts in one, seed in the other and have been WAITING for those seeds to sprout. Peas came up but nothing else until FINALLY today-carrot 🌱! Want to add another box. Growing food is important now more than ever. #resist

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record. They run them bc people react to them the most. If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change. It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

This will be my attitude with MAGA hypocrites going forward. I refuse to be lured into their hypocrisy/false narratives like Hunter’s pardon.

I, for one, am very glad he pardoned Hunter.

pro tip: if you said nothing when Donald Trump pardoned donors, cronies, extended family members and war criminals, then sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up about Joe Biden pardoning his own son. just put a fucking sock in it

Yesterday I joined the library, checked out some books and sat & read looking out on the park the library is situated on. I walked my dog & watched a Christmas movie, avoiding politics most of the day. Take a break & take care of yourself everyone.

I succumbed to Black Friday b/c I really needed a carpet cleaner & found one 47% off. It now feels like Christmas morning when you put you new toys together. This what my life has become. 🤦‍♀️

It’s challenging in these times to feel thankful. So I’m reaching into the past and thinking of my grandpa today and the summers I spent on the farm. He taught me to drive on tractors, play cards, drink coffee, pick corn, dance standing on his feet. He wouldn’t have liked Trump. I miss grandpa.

If you’re unfortunate enough to be spending time with any MAGA family tomorrow and want to keep it spicy, remind them of this truth.

Media, politicians, people you know irl talking about what’s going on as if it’s just a normal change of presidents is Twilight Zone levels of bizarre.

My new coping mechanism is watching endless hair transformation videos. I am obsessed and nervous about the choices I will be making in the near future.

Our current administration and senators must dedicate every moment until January 3rd to confirming regulators and judges who will stand up to the Trump administration’s blatant disregard for our environment, wildlife, and parks. This is not a time for despair—it’s a time for decisive action.

I just want to say I really like this place. I’ve connected with so many kind people and had great conversations. It makes me feel…hopeful and not alone.

This is a very worthwhile read. It will be hard for many of us who “fight like hell” outwardly to agree with the strategy but we do need to consider ways to be effective while re-writing our role in this situation and preserve our mental health at the same time. It’s going to be a long road.
