More than nonpartisan, I'm anti-partisan. Will listen to any POV on civic topics if expressed rationally: 1) Identify the problem; 2) discuss solutions; and only then 3) say which politician will help. Main interest: Free, fair, and secure elections.

1) Go ahead and vote early if you must, but think of the marginal voters before telling the world what you've done. Marginal voters make the difference between high and low turnout, and it discourages their participation when you announce you've beaten them to the polls.

5) The only reform consistently proven to improve turnout is same-day voter registration at the voting location. THAT'S what you want the marginal voters to know about--not that you have already voted before them.

6) The study I'm citing here was funded by the Pew Charitable Trusts and published in the American Journal of Political Science, 58(1): 95-109. January 2014, by Burden, Barry C., David T. Canon, Kenneth R. Mayer, and Donald P. Moynihan.

3) Likely explanation: Marginal voters (whose behavior DETERMINES high or low turnout) can be discouraged they are made to feel they are late to the party by eager voters who proudly announce they've already voted.

4) Other studies have also found early voting causes either no improvement or a negative effect on turnout, while no studies have found clear evidence of turnout attributable to early voting after the initial novelty wears off.

2) In “Election Laws, Mobilization, and Turnout: The Unanticipated Consequences of Election Reform,” researchers found a *negative* relationship (-3.3%) between no-excuse early voting and overall turnout. In both 2004 and 2008, turnout was slightly lower for each additional day of early voting.

If you're not on Medicare, please know Trump has just emailed seniors saying we'll each get a $90 check from Medicare. This will cost $1,900,000,000 ($1.9 billion). Anyone who doesn't recognize that as a taxpayer-funded Republican tactic is either gullible or hasn't noticed it's an election year.

Do you know how much the pay of CEOs at major companies has skyrocketed since 1978? 50%? 100%? 500%? Try 1,316% Meanwhile, the typical workers’ compensation increased only 28%. This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

When you vote in person, your ballot is safe from from any sort of accident or interference. Tell your friends, too, to vote in person if it is possible. Strengthen democracy: Get your ballot handed to you and don't let it out of your control until you insert it in the tabulator with your own hands.

Because the Dems spent 4+ years telling anyone and everyone that our elections are fair and secure. They could not turn around and say “we need to investigate” when trumps wins. How would that look? I think that Trump kept harping on it for this very reason.

Evergreen post: He could be impeached tonight and convicted at trial in a few weeks and removed from office immediately thereafter if about 20 people in DC decided to put country over party for the first time in their miserable, self-dealing lives

Just had to explain who Peter Thiel is to my mother, a woman who has CNN on in her house every waking moment. Starting to think it’s a problem that men like this can just fly under the radar because their friends own the press.

Not quite the *entire* purpose. Another important purpose is to convince people that the system is broken, so that when they are caught doing fraud, they can say, "We had to do it to level the playing field."

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

You should ask yourself why all of the people who are screeching about election fraud on social media are always unwilling to repeat these claims under oath. Let me help you: it’s because they know they’re full of shit. The entire purpose is to keep people angry.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

There are a lot of idiots out there who have turned on Trump, but still love their Congressional Republicans. We have got make them understand that a vote for ANY Republican will allow Trump to continue to steal their tax dollars, continue to violate the Constitution, and take away our civil rights!

We don’t have a shortage of wealth in this country. We have a shortage of political will to challenge those who have captured it.

Only in America can one party control the White House, the Senate, the House of Representatives, win the popular vote, and hold the majority of governorships—and still blame the other party for everything wrong with the country.

Fixing things will require us to reel in the oligarch class, remove their ability to influence politics, and redistribute their hoarded wealth Until we do so, nothing can fundamentally change for anyone

Voter ID? How about Donor ID? Nobody can spend a dime influencing our politics, be it elections or governing unless they are human beings & American citizens.

The effective federal corporate income tax rate: 1950: 50% 1990: 25% 2020: 13% Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate. That is how we will pay for it.

Pointing out Congressional inaction on impeachment is not mean. It is not partisan. It's factual, because we observe their actions. We can either fix this by pressuring them to do their jobs or by voting them all out, but it must be fixed. Soon. Country over party, folks. Demand better.

We have GOT to turn our fury toward the congressional Republicans. They can stop this madman anytime they want. We cannot wait for the next session of Congress to start in 2027. America needs a Congress NOW.

Let me get this straight. DHS is not funded because ICE doesn’t want to wear body cams, follow procedures or show their face. As a result TSA is not funded. So ICE now has to work at TSA were they are constantly recorded, masks are security liability and the job is 100% procedures.

Oh, I'm sorry. Were you expecting the rich and powerful to be arrested for their involvement in Jeffrey Epstein's child sex trafficking crimes? I'm afraid that's just not going to be possible. You see these people are wealthy and that means they are above the law. Hope this clears things up!

Keep in mind that Pete Hegseth's reported Pentagon spending spree happened just months after Trump and Republicans made devastating cuts to the social safety net in exchange for huge tax cuts for the rich. And defense spending may soon hit a record $1.5 trillion. Priorities.

I hope they know by now to have contempt-of-Congress citations pre-printed and ready to slap on Bondi even while the hearing is underway. No witness in the history of Congressional hearings has been as flagrantly contemptuous as Bondi. The legislators MUST respond. apnews.com/article/bond...
