Cat woke from a dead sleep apparently out of a bad dream, panicked, parkoured off my desk, and took out like half the stuff on it.

Went to early voting, came home, put up laundry, pretty sure my "I voted" sticker is in the washing machine ;_;

I know he's mad at me when he does it, but this cat has the most ridiculous little growl. (I made him get off the router.)

Kinda want decor items for all the old WoW archeology stuff I found. I'd do archeology again for decor.

I leveled it on a second character to farm for a mount pattern for a single mount; I would definitely farm for decor.

Realization: a creature that has spent so much time evolving bonkers skill at landing without harm doesn't actually care about balance

Okay I don't remember how/why Imzadi came up (or if it was over at Tumblr), but they had it in hard cover at the library book sale, so now I have it. (There were probably 30 Star Trek paper backs that I was not motivated enough to compare with the already-owned list.)

We are diving headlong into my preferred weather season (high 60s daytime/above freezing overnight), which also means we have entered "when do we take out the window a/c?" guessing season.

Got a bag of gingergold apples at the grocery and it's a good thing they were only 99 cents/lb. because they are sad.

But my dad's family had been in the county at least 5 generations before me; there were a lot of connections if you start mapping it out.

(Okay, I'm realizing I had one first cousin in the same county as me, but she's like, 15 years younger than I am, so there was no school overlap.)

Not *close* relations - all the geographically close 2nd cousins went to the other high school in the county, and all my first cousins were 6+ hours away, but I had a 3rd cousin in my grade that neither of us knew about till 11th grade.

The cat does not understand that I cannot stay in bed all day (so he can sleep on me) because it will wreck my back.

Mostly just trying to reflect on what I want to do with the second half of my life, and kind of pencilling in how to do that. (It would be a lot easier if I won the lottery first.)

What are you doing with your midlife existential crisis? No wrong answers. Just trying to see something, as the kids say.

ALSO if you are local to #yeg and coming to @audreysbooksyeg.bsky.social for my WICKHILLS launch party on September 15, you could get a POSTCARD DESIGNED BY A BUGGE! :D They turned out very cute! In my humble opinion! audreys.ca/events/58407...

Apparently the one thing all alignments of deities agree on in d20-based TTRPGs is good sleep habits for their followers: 8 hours of rest or no spells.

I should probably put a clock on the piano so I'm not up too late with new sheet music, lol. (Was gifted a book of Philip Glass piano solos.)

I got a weather station for my birthday and I'm ridiculously excited to be able to easily see the weekly rain totals next garden season.

Hi, I'm Kate, a librarian and hobby collector. I like the transition between De Selby pt. 1 and De Selby pt. 2 on Hozier's Unreal Unearth, as part one slides down into part two.

Hi, I'm John Moe, a writer and podcast maker in Saint Paul. I am married with three mostly grown kids and two nice dogs. I like in "Misunderstood" when Tweedy throws in extra syllables on "Take the guitar player for a ride". Would you like to introduce yourself with a small song moment you like?

Ugh, information synthesis, I do not have *time* for you right now. (My brain just applied my basic high school journalism training (5 Ws + how) to the concept of citations/annotated bibliographies.)

Was afraid my Bluetooth keyboard was dead, but it turns out my spare batteries have been in my bag so long, they were also dead.

Okay now that it's far enough past the 6+ inches of rain we got in 36 hours last month, the San Marzanos are producing faster than the slugs can ruin them, but oh no, they are indeterminate tomatoes, and oh no. I'm going to be making sauce into late September again.

Nooo all my library holds are becoming available at the same time. And since they're all new books, they're only 2 week loans.

Yes, but I have issues that make it slower than printing for me. (Letters don't always come out in the correct order so it's easier if I can squeeze them in where they go when they do come out.)

Thinking about the mistranslations and miscopied words that came down to us in the sole surviving known copies of various ancient works that became canon and how the digitization and destruction of old/rare books is going to create new ones through failures of OCR.
