Seen some folks asking about lawyers who help federal employees so: 1. obviously, you can call us. we'll try to fit you in considering ~everything~ 2. go to MWELA.org. that's the plaintiff's employment bar association in the DMV. go to NELA.org nationally. search for lawyers who do federal work.

So here's my MySpace pic from 2006/07. When I was 20. My assymetrical bob screams aspiring Karen. Those brows? It's 2006, honey. And that eye liner? I might have a secret shitty tattoo, but I'm not telling.

This one is more true-to-form. Me during a shift at Home Depot in 2006. With a line of Spartan Cheerleaders. There to watch the Fire Department cut a car in half with power tools.

I know the exact right amount about Dickens: Enough to make an "a tale of one City" joke that killed when I worked for a City Attorney; and Enough to associate "artful dodger" with this image of a dog stealing hot dogs from a street vendor while Billy Joel sings "why should I worry?"

Hundreds of protestors march from the site where an ICE agent shot a father in the Bronx on 10/8 to the hospital where he was being held. Defund and abolish ICE. Chinga la migra. 🧵 of photos...

Woke up at a weird time in a weird way because of weird sleep things. Wandered to the kitchen, saw the time "3:33am" and my beautiful, ridiculous brain did *this* to me: Brain: 3:33? The Witching Hour! Pretend you didn't see this Wait until it says 3:34 No, not yet! Avert your eyes, fool!

Defendants in civil rights cases: it is my job to make your "because I am/we are the defendant" argument insufficient. So you're going to have to do better than that. It's insulting enough to our nation that my job has to exist thanks to y'all, at least let me put my hard-earned education to use.

"I like to really lean into a shitty day by singing a bad song," said my rideshare driver, after drummimg out part of the instrumental break from "Iris," by the Goo Goo Dolls on his dashboard. Wisdom. Respect.

REM sleep without muscle atonia is a young woman's game. I am an old lady made of glass. I do not tuck. I do not roll. (It is actually a condition that predominantly affects men over 50, but I just refuse to stay in my lane, I guess).

Watching "Furious" and damn, Quincy Tyler Bernstine (who plays Nora) is so GD good in this. The faces she pulls during an employee outreach meeting reaching out to folks with PTSD. Fantastic.

Fuckers.

i hope that men notice how whenever a rape story gets widespread coverage, women use it as an opportunity to vent about how fucking disgusting we think many of you are and how many have made our lives measurably worse, and take a few moments to deeply process that.

I hope the outrage about this and coverage includes the fact that many other men were in that group chat and none of them called the police.

Unexpected convo re physics with my doctor today: Doctor: You could even go through a window in your sleep. Me: Oh, we close and lock our windows. Doctor: Yeah. Well. Not to be alarmist, but I mean *through* a window. The glass. Me: Oh. . . . Like Chuck Norris.

Sept. 2025: :deep breath: "Ah, crisp Fall air." Sept. 2026: :deep breath: :8,000 consecutive sneezes: I've developed a new allergy in the three intervening seasons, somehow.

Overheard: Mom (to her kid): Do you have a license to drive? Kid: No. Mom: Then you don't have a license to cross the street on your own. Kid: . . . Mom: Did you hear me? Kid: What, do I need a license to be annoyed, too?

In its last act of defiance, while lugging the ancient inkjet printer that has ruined my life for weeks out of our home, an ink cartridge exploded all over my hands. I look like my bank robbery just got foiled by a clever teller. My fingernails are going to be cyan for a week.

I'd say "how embarassing," but I'm accident prone and this is par for the course. I once had to have silver nitrate put in my nose (to cauterize, for frequent nosebleeds). I sneezed right after they did it, as they were telling me not to. I'll let you use your imagination.
