Went to see this yesterday. It was wonderful and if you like weird folk horror and family drama this is a great production.

Review: LANNY at Bristol Old Vic This is theatre with real imaginative nerve funny, frightening and emotionally devastating. ★★★★★ t.co/Me5icdV79K @BristolOldVic

So, the BBC have forced Trump to appear in court, are looking to subpoena Jack Smith and are able to subpoena Mar-a-Lago accounts. And if Trump fails to comply the whole case can be thrown out witb Trump then liable for all costs.

Dr Roman Yampolskiy, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering:-"AI is the last human invention." That is possibly the most chilling phrase I have heard.

Why do footballists jump up and down, hug and kiss each other or slide along the pitch when they score a goal? Surely that is fulfilling the minimum requirement of the job?

If ever the world is a little too bleh, look at Orkney Library. It is a happy place.

Happy birthday for tomorrow to Mary Shelley who was born on the 30th August 1797. 🎂 Did you know that in her most famous novel, she wrote that Dr Frankenstein travelled to #Orkney to create a mate for his monster? So that was nice. She must have thought it was lovely here.

I like listening to music. I have a nice stereo setup that, to me, sounds great. I also know that audiophiles are a strange breed. I never thought they were stupid...until now. You can buy an audiophile grade ethernet switch. Yes, you read that right. And it is £13000.

Jenna Ortega and Taika Waititi being interviewed about Klara and the Sun. I am deeply worried about this film. Is this another example of where someone should have been hitting the writer with the book every time they said "I have an idea..."?

Europe is cutting ties with the US. It is removing US technology from government, replacing US weapons systems and moving away from US software. It has seen what Trump has done, moving directly against US allies, and said "no more". The damage Trump has done will, I think, never be repaired.

Average UK temp for this time in October is...13C. Today will be 20. Tomorrow will be 20. It reduces to 15 on Wed but then sits at 16-17 for the rest of the week. #climatebreakdown.

So a man makes an IED and uses it to destroy a piece of government infrastructure that is surrounded by families and passers-by because he disagrees with it being there and gets 16 years. And Sarah Pochin thinks he is an example of two tier policing.

Can someone please explain what, for example, "up to 10x less hair loss" means? Is it 10% hair loss. 90%of hair potentially lost not lost or does your hair actually grow more?

Just finished "There is no anti-memetics division" and my overall thought is...hmmm! A really good concept that could have worked really well if written by a better writer. No characterisation, no emotion, nothing to grasp onto. People who have called it terrifying need to wobble their heads.

Pope Innocent III,who died in 1216, spoke of a certain kind of older man, who is "easily provoked", "will believe anything and question nothing", is "stingy and greedy" and "praises the good old days and hates the present." Reform UK's voter base has been knocking around for a very long time.

Off to Tewkesbury Abbey this evening to experience some wonderful music. The New World symphony, The Lark Ascending and music from Dances with Wolves. And...relax.

After the Black Death devastated Brirain, peasant labour was in short supply. Peasants realised they could charge more for their work. The elite hated this and brought in laws to cap wages at pre-pandemic levels. They then increased taxes. The peasants revolted. Hmmm!

Developing a solo/GM free ttrpg based on the idea of pilgrimage. Nearly 8000 words in and I have worked in Catholicism, folklore amd corpse roads. I aim to get it ready for an event in November. #folklore #ttrpg

Reform Ltd have banned several journalists from their conference next week. The thing they have in common? They have all written critical stories about Farage. Remind you of anyone?

Gotta love the Tories. In order to raise money we cut taxes and cut local services. This is the logic that conservatives always follow, and that always leads to greater inequality and poorer services.

I know John Williams is a great film composer, but Barry Gray wrote the BEST TV theme tunes ever. Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, UFO and the brilliant, masterful, exciting Stingray. Stand by for action...

"The British public are blissfully unaware of the threats facing them." The right is so focussed on stopping little boats that they are ignoring Russia and disbelieve climat breakdown, and the public is falling for it.

Dolly Parton on one day, Tim Curry the next. Both astonishing people who made the world better. And there is another 80 year old who has shit on everyone and everything atound him, and he is still here. FFS.

Went for a lovely walk on Saturday around a local church. Fields, hedgerows, woodland. All lovely. No birdsong. Not even sparrows. A few pigeons and a crow or two. This is not good

I adore Mervyn Peake's writing. It is beautiful, poetic and can be incredibly moving. But, for sheer joy, lightness and the best turn of phrase, no-one comes close to P G Wodehouse.

Normally I am a guitar fan, but Francis Monkman's keyboard playing on the Sky 2 album is absolutely glorious. He scurries around on harpsichord playing off-beat runs and it is sublime. Dance of the Little Fairies and Sahara are really wonderful.

We may technically no longer be in a heatwave because we have 3 days of sub 25C temps before going back up to 30 again. However, we have not had a below-average temp since the beginning of May. I know the BBC don't want to mention climate change, but this IS it.
