Kristina is family. Trust that if she is asking it’s both needed AND going to where it should go.

I helped mobilize a group of neighbors to provide direct aid to nearly 50 families who are in hiding from ICE. These folks deserve fresh, familiar foods. So we're purchasing groceries direct from neighborhood Latino markets whenever we can. Venmo @kristina-halvorson to help, and please repost.

I, like others in America, have been wondering what can we do. Here's one idea. If we don't like what the billionaires are doing, we need to STOP giving them our money. Simple. Permanently stop buying products/services that give them money. Shop small. Shop local. We have more power than we know.

Just finished reading this book recommended by my daughter. I believe it should be read by every adult in the world, but not at bedtime. Perfect for Hallowe'en as it's terrifying. More info in alt text. #books #booksky #reading #bookcommunity #Facebook

Finally finished my alphabet painting for my granddaughter for the holidays. Followed tutorials by @Dewintonpaperco.com on YouTube. It was challenging, being miniature and following someone else's work, but I loved it! #art #watercolor #watercolour #bloomscrolling #flowers

Having some fun looking at photos from our honeymoon in 2000. This is Point Barrow, Alaska. Whale bones in dumpsters. The bones are left far from the town so the polar bears stay away. Reminds me of the Flintstones. #photography #EastCoastKin #landscapes #scapes #art

Made a funny little watercolor card for my elderly mom. Although her life has become smaller, I chose three things she loves - the Southwest, out to eat, and games - both playing and watching. Thanks to Becca Courtice, @thehappyevercrafter, for the idea! Details in ALT. #watercolor #art #watercolour

My two new WIPs - one for me, one for my 3-year-old granddaughter for the holidays. Miniature flowers A-Z taught by @DeWintonPaperCo.com on YouTube. I'm learning a ton! (Type of flowers in alt text). So fun to do! #watercolor #art #painting #watercolour #flowers

Last night was date night. After a fine meal with some homegrown food, my husband told me he'd tell my fortune. Intrigued, I said okay. Bless his sweet heart! With a necklace on his head, a scarf as his turban, and his robe (repurposed), we laughed hard and long! Best date ever!

Working on writing my mom's life history with her - not to publish, except for her. It's an interesting project to get her to enjoy her memories and, hopefully, create more. Born during the depression, she didn't know her family was poor. #amwriting #writingcommunity #writing #wip #writerslife

Just around a bend on our morning walk, my husband and I came upon a mama deer nursing her young. Alas, no camera. So in honor of her, here is a picture of a mama in Yellowstone NP, 2015. Happy simple joys to all! #photography #wildlife #EastCoastKin #Yellowstone

Happy Friday and (e)Scape day to you all! This is the beautiful Agnew Lake in the Eastern Sierras of California in 2000. #photography #EastCoastKin #BlueSkyPhotography #Scapes #Landscapes #BlueSkyArtShow

When I feel overwhelmed by our current times, I look back and wonder if days gone by were really "the good ole days". One type of window to look through. Here's another - Hotel Meade in Bannack, Montana. #photography #WindowsonWednesday #EastCoastKin #BlueSkyPhotography #art

Just finished "James" by Percival Everett. Good book! A fascinating book - reimagined from Twain's "Huck Finn". The adventures are told from the escaped slave, Jim's, point of view. Made me think and feel. Worth the read. 2025 Pulitzer Prize winner for fiction. I recommend it!

The family's understanding is that grandfather, Earle Dexter, led the first Boy Scout group into Yosemite in 1915. #NationalParks #Yosemite #WaterfallWednesday #ProtectOurParks #Photography #BlueSky #Camping #Landscape #Wilderness #BoyScouts

Just sharing that breathless moment when the water begins its journey over the edge of Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Happy #WaterfallWednesday! #photography #EastCoastKin #art #nature #BlueSkyPhotography #landscapes

About 1977, folks began wearing labels on the outside to show status - Calvin Klein on jeans, etc. This quilted label vest was my quiet protest. Details in Alt text. #art #bskyart #quilts #quilting

Just love this man’s voice! A Cappella sure makes it clear that the music is flowing through his heart.

A huge dream of mine came true as I watched earth being born in Hawaii with my family. Camera couldn't keep up with the lava in the darkness, but the movement made lava and family abstract. Happy Earth Day! #Earthday #photography #travel #nature #bskyart #peace

Love to make holiday gift tags for those special folks...and practice watercolor at the same time. This one went with a gift for a D&D fan. Any other watercolorists making tags out there? #watercolor #watercolorpainting #art #painting #originalart #watercolorexercises

A photo of Lu the hippo at Homosassa Wildlife State Park in Florida. In 1991, the governor of Florida granted him special citizenship so he could stay in the park even though he's not native to Florida. Happy 65th Birthday, Lu! (1/26/60) #photography #UnJourUnePhoto #wildlife #photobruary #art

My 95-year-old mom lost her cat, Mimi, last week. This is a pastel of her I painted years ago. If you would, please close your eyes and think a warm thought for them. Hard to lose your best friend. Thank you all! #pastel #painting #cats #bkyart #artshow #peace #catsofbluesky #catpainting #siamese

Love this, and I have decided. Have you?

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
