Oof we're up to 70 MPs calling for Starmer to go and Sky news have just said that Shabana Mahmoud has also joined the chorus! He's toast.

“One of the problems they’ve had is not pinning Brexit onto Farage and Reform strongly or often enough - it’s a schoolboy error” Emily and Lewis say the “strongest” part of Starmer’s speech was attacking Farage - but you “can’t fatten the pig on market day”.

Morgan McSweeney's 'hero voter' strategy now lies in tatters. The consequences of deliberately alienating Labour's core supporters should have been instantly obvious to anyone with even minimal political nous.

I’m not sure there is a bleaker - or older - phenomenon in politics than desperate voters turning to charlatans and bigots for change. Reform councillors will do nothing to help someone’s elderly Mum get social care or keep the local library open for kids. And Farage is laughing his arse off.

Embracing racism is not a way to restore pride, it’s a way to restore racism. It’s not a path to glory, it’s a path to repressed shame and having to lie to yourself, ever more desperately, about who you’ve become.

I'm Welsh. Watching Eluned Morgan resign is mindblowing! For everyone who chose to ignore how awful Starmer was, now do you believe what people were trying to tell you??

Imagine seeing Labour suffer one of its worst ever election results and your immediate takeaway is "the man whose entire strategy delivered this must have been right"

Morgan McSweeney might be gone but his atrocious legacy lives on! What a disastrous waste of public goodwill. On the upside I voted Plaid Cymru.

Im all for helping ordinary Iranians persecuted by a cruel regime but thats not what Trumps motivation was, he's bitten off more than he could chew & Mr Big bollocks is now crying out for help from those who don't have a clue what he's up to. He's a bankrupt businessman - not a diplomat!

Absolutely insupportable. Labour have a massive majority. It’s a hugely popular issue. To fail to act would be a dereliction of historic proportions, and utterly inexplicable.

In the second half of 2025, one man accounted for almost 40% of all money donated to political parties in the UK: a crypto-billionaire who lives in Thailand. Britain desperately needs to rewrite its party funding rules. observer.co.uk/news/the-sen...

Kercle reposted

Labour's Cat Smith MP last night: "There are still huge gaps re. cryptocurrency and the potential for illicit funds to bypass traditional checks. We should be bold enough to start talking about a donation cap, too. There is no plausible argument against introducing caps on political donations."

Just more evidence that the UKs “first past the post” voting system does not reflect the diversity of our politics. Time for a change

Hold up. Trump officials are saying Israel went something like “we’re totally gonna attack on our own, but then Iran might shoot back at you, so really you’re under imminent threat and should start the war with a big attack,” and the White House bought it, and this is supposed to be a *defense*?!?

White House tweets out Rubio’s statement seeming to say that basically Bibi maneuvered Trump into attacking Iran.

How the heck can we trust our government?

Greek newspapers are reporting that during a phone call between Christodoulidis and Starmer, the President of Cyprus made it very clear that Cyprus was not the target of those missiles. He also issued an official statement confirming the same.

NEW: The Lib Dems are demanding MPs get a vote on allowing the US to use UK air bases. Leader Ed Davey says: “No matter how the Prime Minister tries to redefine offensive as defensive, this is a slippery slope. He must not let Trump drag Britain into another prolonged war in the Middle East.”

This shouldn't have made me laugh - but laugh I did 🤣

Starmer's ability to find the exact sweetspot which pisses off everyone is extraordinary. He's a savant.

Dear Keir Starmer, your "duty" to the British people is to call out the twat in the Whitehouse and the mass murderer in the Knesset but apparently you're loathe to do that!

None of this makes any sense. Either Trump "obliterated" Iran's nuclear capabilty or he didn't! "Obliterated" suggests finality, so why the need to return?

Kercle reposted

Kaine on Fox: "The president can act to defend US against imminent attack without congressional approval. But if you're going to initiate war, you need Congress. The president not only did not come to Congress, he acted without even notification to the vast majority of us. This is an illegal war."

Mark Warner: "I saw no intelligence that Iran was on the verge of launching any kind of preemptive strike against the United States. None."

Im fucking sick of rich white men playing God with other peoples lives. Trump's nor Netanyahu's Son's will be expected to lose their lives. Why not?

The man who thought encouraging people to drink bleach was a good idea, now thinks he can eradicate a 47 year old regime overnight! FFS!
