Semi-monthly Shadowrun 3E Renraku Arcology game finally came to an inglorious end. Party got cornered in a hideout, tried to make a mad dash to escape, and three of us got got almost immediately. A C4 deadman's switch made sure we didn't become fodder at least lol

We didn't accomplish anything we were sent to do, failed our cover mission, lost three of the four runners, burnt a resistance cell, and cut off the lifeline from outside. RIP

Last PC got away through some vents, but then didn't see the monowire while descending an elevator shaft w/ a grapple gun and got sliced up real bad. She made it to the garage floors, got spotted by a sentry, and managed to get to the exit where the tunnel was collapsed. Cue montage

Having now played in my third full session of Shadowrun 3E, and getting to dive into the Decking rules, I can honestly say... I would rather gnaw my own arm off than play this regularly, holy shit. I love getting to play anything! And I love playing with my friends. But I do not love this game.

I got to play in my first Shadowrun 3E game last night! It was sorta a Session 0.5, we did some legwork and had a low-stakes combat as practice. I can honestly say that I had a good time! It was great playing with friends, and I actually liked the way the legwork played out. But the combat....

I bought Hero Kids to get my nephew into TTRPG but his attention span isn't quite there yet. Today, as an even simpler introduction, I drew a battle map and we had a simple 1d6 "if you roll higher your attack hits" fight with a rat king and its minions. His PC is him "but also half scorpion" 🥰
