I just read about a "natural" wine bar that sells sausages wrapped in a buttery crust, & I'm wondering if the alcohol, processed meat, & butter relative to the "natural" aspect of the wine is rum & diet coke on steroids.

I think regulation on AI would be nice to have, but the technology is evolving way too fast & is too complex for Congress (& trump) to create good regulations. What they should focus on instead are laws defining liability for when AI runs amuck, or is just intentionally used for crimes.

I thought this was satire. It doesn't appear to be. It's just another entry in the chronicles of the fall of the American empire.

Witkoff: "President Putin, thank you so much for having us. We were sitting outside just now, me, Jared, Kirill, Yuri, and we were talking about, when we retire, we'll have all these incredible stories and memories, and yours will be right at the top of it all."

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social You are a traitor to your party. There is no common ground with the racist fascist. This is why I won't donate a cent to any campaign of yours. I would support a primary challenge to you though.A party that chooses you as leader is just as morally bankrupt as the GOP.

Representative Hakeem Jeffries, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, met privately in recent weeks with Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and top outside adviser, and discussed potential areas of common ground, according to people with knowledge of the meeting.

They can rein him in with every vote where they abandon their principles because they are cowards, even the ones not facing reelection. The most cowardly group of losers in the history of the world.

A reminder that people who know anything about politics -- what the parties are, what they stand for, their record, who they've elected, how government works -- are a freakish minority. Most people know *nothing at all* past the vague mythologies that sift down through pop culture.

1/ What if you put all the ways that Jared Kushner is selling out America while lining his pockets into one place? In our new cover story, @cjcmichel.bsky.social did just that www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

BASH: You and your fellow Democrats have used some heated rhetoric against the president. Do you think twice about that when something like that happens? RASKIN: What rhetoric do you have in mind? BASH: That he's terrible for this country and so on and so forth

this is like in the GFC when mortgage defaults were rising in 2007 but the bonds that owned them weren't losing value (see The Big Short). When will the GOP congress sync with voter attitudes on trump? Are they waiting for a total collapse of the US before they remove trump from office?

Add GOP senators to that group of cowards

Chris Murphy@chrismurphyct.bsky.social

For the CEOs and university presidents and other responsible leaders who have been biding their time and waiting for him to cross the magic red line before speaking up, maybe when he starts arresting Senators is a good time to get off the fucking sidelines.

stop playing games and worrying about how your votes will be covered in the worthless, biased media. If you don't stop the assault on our constitutional rights, your jobs in 2027 will be meaningless.

He's insane, you know. Perhaps it's dementia. Perhaps it's heavy metal poisoning. But he's absolutely batshit. Pretty wild that Republican lawmakers don't care even a little!

Trump posts that he’s “Acting President of Venezuela”

The GOP reps that criticize trump (Massie, MTG except she quits in 2 days) for his illegal wars need to vote to impeach trump, they can't accept these crimes as a price for all the stuff they like.

I was there, in the 90s, the boomers were giving out the participation trophies to their kids. I was the only boomer I knew complaining about that. I hated it.

Boomers: It just sucks so much that everyone gets participation trophies now, you used to have to show real merit to get an award Also Boomers:

It's entertaining for someone who is not in journalism/media/whatever to watch journalists wringing their hands over two of their own doing on an individual scale what their employers have been doing on a much larger scale for some time now.

it's also interesting to watch journalists who are giving so much air to their world's war of the roses ask others to give them free access to one of the Roses' work, I mean shouldn't everyone get paid for what they write?

Mamdani should tell trump privately that he wants to provide a subsidy for businesses by making public transportation free, it helps them get employees who will work for less because they live farther away, and it reduces traffic for wealthy people because there will be less cars.

a brand that wants to be interesting, & attention is the only currency that matters - that sounds like the NYT, WaPo, CNN, most of the national media.

this isn't just a low taxes, less regulations "party". trump breaks laws, gets payoffs, has declared war on American cities, is ignoring the rule of law & the constitution, & forces his regime to do the same. This is not D v R, this is a war on America. So f this divided shit.
