Surprise!! I’ll have a new Legend of La Mariposa comic at Thought Bubble this year! This is the first part of a longer story and I’ve only printed a limited run, so come grab some while stocks last!

This is about Wildwood, by the way

People scratching their heads about why original films do so poorly in the box office, meanwhile my local cinemas are only doing three showings a day, down to two after the first weekend.

Hey all! I'm making a weird pulp sci-fantasy epic releasing this October and I need your help. Seems like I'm struggling getting on track on bsky compared to that other site... So do follow and share for more info soon!! Thanks bye!🔥

I post more about it over on Instagram, but I’ve been growing a chaotic kitchen garden this summer. I planted a box of random spuds and have been getting all kinds of colours now they’re finally ready for harvest!

My central obsession has been trying the three sisters planting method, where you grow corn, beans and squash all together in the same soil, creating a symbiotic relationship. TBH it was closer to seven sisters because there was peas and marigolds in there and tomato plants kept cropping up too.

Love that all the participants in the procession are geared up in period clothing but the charioteer is just in a polo and baseball cap, like “I built this bloody thing, that’s cosplay enough”.

So yesterday evening at Chalke History Festival a remarkable thing happened, a procession of a reconstructed Iron Age chariot led to the site of a reenacted chariot burial based on those found at Wetwang in E.Yorkshire c.200BC…. 1of2

Comics artists! You’re all doing this, right?? If you’ve got any work published in something with an ISBN or ISSN, register with this payback scheme and simply receive free money later in the year. It is that simple. Do it! Love you.x

Every year, DACS distributes money to artists, creators and their beneficiaries annually for certain reuses of their work through the Payback scheme. This could be for work that has appeared in a print or digital UK book, magazine or TV programme.

I like the idea of gearmakers in the world of LoLM having shamanistic roles and abilities while still being very pragmatic craftspersons. Less inclined towards pageantry (they leave that to their clientele), but with a clear understanding of the mysticism of masking and the Road To Glory.

Just seen a Kickstarter trying to charge 13 quid for a 50-odd page PDF?? I understand the need for higher prices on print books and shipping, but I dunno how those factors apply to digital goods. Digital goods are zero overhead so you price low to get more pledges in the door? What am I missing?

Fraser nailing it here. We badly need RM pulling back into public ownership because it’s getting absurd. I want to do another Kickstarter eventually but each year that passes it seems less and less feasible.

I see Royal Mail are raising postage prices again in April. This is now basically a bi-annual gouge, with no explanation of why the rises are necessary. Disastrous for small creators and business. Since Royal Mail was privatised in 2013 first class prices have gone from 60p to £1.80 per item.

This is GREAT!! Go give it a read.

And now: a Coconino love story. New twelve-page comic drawn by @bmure.bsky.social and written by myself. You can read it below or download a high-res .pdf for a price of your choosing (process files also available for purchase): hagaipalevsky.itch.io/coconino (1/2)

Seeing people get into histrionics about this question the same way they do about “what brush is that” and tbh the person asking is probably young and trying to learn. They’re picking up on surface level stuff and focusing on that because they’re still learning to look deeper. Be civil, be open!

I’m VERY excited to see what happens to this awful mural once it’s finished.

Laura Webster@lauraewebster.bsky.social

NEW: Glasgow City Council has just approved a massive AI-generated mural to be painted in the city centre. The illustration of Scottish elements inexplicably contains a bald eagle. The planner says those upset about it are "keyboard warriors" who should "calm down"

It’s this mind of brainrot from think tanks that froze the momentum of the Harris/Walz campaign. People need to stop listening to these clowns both in the US and the UK. They are not smart people.

Ryan Broderick@ryanhatesthis.bsky.social

ICE may be shooting people in the face, sending people to concentration camps, and illegally occupying our cities but, apparently, the Democrats think saying, "abolish ICE" is "emotional" and politically "lethal."

Worth noting in stories like this that genAI integration is always a top-down push from management. When Vincke says staff are “more or less okay with it”, he probably drew that conclusion from an all-hands meeting where no time was alloted for objections, disseminating a decision already made.

Jason Schreier@jasonschreier.bsky.social

NEW: I spoke to Larian boss Swen Vincke about their ambitions for their new RPG Divinity, cutting down development time, pressures from Baldur's Gate 3, why BG3 wouldn't have happened without Tencent, how Larian uses generative AI, and much more www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

The people doing the actual work and being forced to use it to delay their inevitable layoffs largely have no interest in it because, unlike management, they actually have the skills to do their job without assistance.
