When watching a horror movie, there's often a scene where a character finds a road and tries to get a car to stop for help, but everyone drives by. This is often viewed as a critique of the lack of empathy in modern society; however...

There also is a thing with horror movies where most viewers believe stupidity should be punished by death. Obviously these are fictional movies and most people wouldn't say that in real life but it's a common to think of death in horror movies as punishment and life as a reward.

So we now have two situations, one where picking up someone off the road is stupid and the characters who do it get what they deserve, but also not picking up someone up is cold and heartless, even though we might have been telling the main characters to do the same thing earlier in the same movie.

...when watching a horror movie, and our main character pick up someone off the side of the road, they're suddenly stupid, and they should have driven right by. There's no longer a concern for empathy.

I been wanting to rewatch a movie I not seen in over 10 years, but it feels weird to watch a movie I already seen alone yet also I don't think anyone I know would like this one

What's the vibe on found footage/mockumentary horror movies for everyone here? Personally I tend to like them despite everything. I find the aesthetic of low quality cameras very eerie that even some of the more medium quality found footage movies tend to interest me enough.

Some reason though this subgenre just tends to have some of the most obnoxiously mean characters, I never understand why that specifically happens in those movies.

Welcome to my new altered post card series: "Pissing in the Colonialist Pool 1" (of 5) Paint pen on multiple copies of a postcard featuring a despicable resort on the Virgin Islands; land taken from the Taรญno people. So I had to do it to 'em, I had to piss in their pool. Over and over again.
