The wonderful folks at Refactr.Tech were kind to feature me as their Community Voice this month! It was such a nice little birthday present. Check out some of the things I've been watching and thinking about lately. https://refactr.tech/radar#jay-miller
https://templates.aiven.io runs render engine! I made render engine to generate HTML for a website at my job 9 years ago. I've been building little sites with it for years, but this is the first time I made a thing my job "adopted" with render-engine as the underlying tech!
I spoke with with Kristiyan Ivanov of BetterDB, the Valkey and Redis observability tool. Kristiyan is a regular contributor to the Valkey community and the ecosystem of tooling being built around it. https://youtu.be/pJd6BAxQr0o

Aiven is giving me more freedom to write. This time in prep for my workshop tomorrow I wrote about how I ingested the MICHELIN guide data and showed how I could explore the dataset with PG Studio. https://aiven.io/blog/anniversary-dinner-aiven-mcp-postgresql-pg-studio
I wrote this post on the Aiven Blog because genuinely when someone asks me "Is PGVector enough", I'm almost certain they haven't considered their architecture. PGVector is a darn good solution, however... https://aiven.io/blog/pgvector-isnt-your-vector-databasing-cure-all
