Very frustrating to see the government's thoughtful development of good tools that genuinely help people disappear -- this was a great way to show people how government can be trusted and an example I spoke of often in my public econ class
New, from me: The Trump administration is killing Direct File, the free IRS e-filing tool. Users love it, and it creates incredible value for the public. It's the clearest sign that DOGE wants a government that serves private and not public interests. 🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/the-death-...
@darealagentg.bsky.social welcome to a more discussion / non-controlled social network ;)
My view is this is positive for Seattle. We need more housing and the amount (less than 1k) doesn't seem like it will impact industrial activities. Curious what others think. mynorthwest.com/local/sodo-h...
Gotta say, for the individual that said US election fraud was such a huge issue, cutting funding to protect our elections is both laughable and, incredibly sad. www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...

This Administration is turning its back on science. If you never had the measles or polio, thank science. If you use a smartphone as easily as a computer, thank science. If you want to know if it will be raining tomorrow, thank science. A total disaster is coming. apnews.com/article/trum...
This is idiotic. The 2nd door has been closed for usage (except for emergency) for more than 5 years. At least one year before the pandemic (when I first shopped there) And, Safeway is fighting rampant theft. The city should expedite rationality. komonews.com/news/local/s...

Damn @sanders.senate.gov. Just when I compliment you, I looked for info on the event. NONE HERE. But multiple posts on X. WTF. You obviously don’t care to engage. Just look at the quality of replies you get over there.
This is really smart by @sanders.senate.gov Go to republican districts and push voters to pressure their republican reps. www.commondreams.org/news/bernie-...
Musk employees NOT passed background checks for sensitive information. Going fast and breaking rules good for start ups, they have to be quick to survive. Government is NOT the place to break things. Stability, Transparency, Service come to mind. Not Chaos. www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...
Age of employees not relevant. Given write access to code and data when, they are just reviewing - wrong. The fact it was widespread - wrong. Privacy including HIPAA scoped data needs to be handled appropriately. www.msn.com/en-us/news/u...

It seems as if Musk is into transactional relationships. I'm not sure if he was annoyed that generally this info was disclosed or, this specific instance. www.msn.com/en-us/money/...

This is perfection. @crampell.bsky.social is soooo smart.
Jennings: This salute trutherism is outrageous. Rampell: Do it right now on TV! If you think it’s a normal way to greet people, do it right now on TV. Why won’t you?!
I have family that have dedicated their careers in research that is assisted by national health grants. They don't get paid alot based on the hours they work but do it to help people and the u.s.
I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service. “Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.

That has been my perspective. TikTok may indeed be a threat to US national security, but it is no more so than X, Facebook, etc, etc. If the US needs to ban TikTok, it should ban all social media for the same reason. John Oliver did an excellent episode on this, which touches on that exact point:
The comment at the end that security worked is false. The tresspasser was caught because she sat in a full flight and the ticket holder caught her. If she had boarded a flight with empty seats she likely could have said sorry and moved seats. www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
Seems like every politician is taking the easy-out by jumping on the "what's going on with these drones?" outrage. This appears to be a distraction from real problems. If any drones violate protected airspace, let the FAA handle it. Can we get back to real issues? - www.msn.com/en-us/news/u...
You shouldn't "cancel" someone because you don't agree with some of their views. Case in point, Mitch pushing against isolationism: I agree. People should not be grouped together and then dismissed if not your group - www.msn.com/en-us/news/p...
