After playing FAITH I started following Airdorf and waiting patiently for Tenebris Somnia to drop. Maybe my game of the year. The cut scenes are incredible and there's really impressive makeup and character design. PTSD warning if you went to film school store.steampowered.com/app/2121510/...

Paratopic felt a little more like a Lynchian detective mystery than a horror game but definitely some good atmosphere and ominous music. I think there’s more here I’m not understanding so I might try to come back to it later store.steampowered.com/app/897030/P...

Y’all know I’m obsessed with UFO 50 (last year I was playing Night Manor at this time) This year I’m playing MADHOUSE by the same developer. It’s like a zombified Earthbound. Lots of fun splatter gore and flying limbs: store.steampowered.com/app/3727130/...

I cannot stop playing Crow Country. The whole game takes place in an abadoned amusement park with the graphic style of PS1. This (and FAITH) might be my favorite game so far. Also not really many jump scares! Just great overall spooky atmosphere store.steampowered.com/app/1996010/...

Finally started playing Skate Story and not only is it one of the most beautiful games you'll ever see but it FEELS great. I wouldn't normally gravitate toward a skateboarding game but it's very accessible, get it while it's on sale!

Looking into making a giant trackball. Something like 8-10” in diameter. Anyone have references for something like this? Would prefer to use rotary encoders instead of an optical mouse so thinking roller bearings on the underside. Sketch by @just404it.bsky.social

For the back panel, I cut two keyholes for mounting and cut vent holes in what would become the "door" (though I opted to just leave this panel off for MAGFest) In retrospect I should have cut some vent holes in the top and sides as well, as the PC gives off a fair bit of heat in the small space

I used makercase.com to design an acrylic box using my Glowforge laser cutter and 1/4" acrylic. The LCD screen had four mounting holes, so I created two struts that spanned the width of the box to hold it in place. Here's what the guts look like

Instead of the Circuit Playground which is what the jam suggests for beginners, I used the Adafruit Itsy Bitsy board which also allows for HID inputs. The code uses the Keyboard library in Arduino to simulate key presses for each switch (switch on= key held down)

The screen can be powered via USB-C so it's plugged into the PC for power. I had to get a right-angle HDMI because the port is on the side of the screen and needed to conserve space. I got a USB-C panel mount extension to plug in the power supply to the computer

In Discord, the devs voted for light switches so I set out to design the cabinet using 5 light switches, a button for "confirm" and buttons to select games from the launcher. There's a build guide on the Flip Out itch page if you want to build your own! docs.google.com/document/d/1...
