NEW from me: AI-generated hot girls are stealing comedians’ jokes and getting millions of views — and Instagram says it's totally kosher. I investigated horny AI content farms for @wired.com, and whether you should be worried about robots w/ BBLs stealing your content: www.wired.com/story/ai-gen...

Heartbroken by Helen Branswell’s passing. I always enjoyed talking with her and reading her reporting. She sought the truth, lifted up science, and asked questions that mattered. Her loss leaves a tremendous void in journalism and public health. @statnews.com www.statnews.com/2026/10/13/h...

Has anyone experienced as much of Chicago’s late-night musical offerings the past few decades as Claudio Velez? I interviewed 16 musicians, DJs, and nightlife workers about the Tamale Guy’s relationship with Chicago music for this Reader oral history.

Devastating article, incredible reporting. I hope that hospitals, especially in cities w/ significant Venezuelan populations, are taking notice

Earlier this year, I heard about several kids who died after anesthesia—and others who suffered catastrophic brain damage. I wrote about one mother, and her quest to figure out what happened to her son. theatlantic.com/magazine/202...

This isn't just a think piece saying they disagree with PEN America; they actually went back and examined at the data and reporting — including a key claim that a literary agent was selling far fewer books by Jewish and Israeli authors in the US — and found it lacking. Fascinating work.

Working on this reported essay, just published, increasingly took over my life for the last two months. PEN America did a terrible disservice with its sloppy reporting about American Jews and Israelis in publishing in July. Josh Lambert and I tried to do better. jewishcurrents.org/what-pen-ame...

Just thrilled to see the re-release of Cyberselfish. It’s a hell of a book. Downright prescient. The only mistake Borsook made was in writing it a couple decades before people were willing to listen.

I've been covering prediction markets intensively for just over six months now and felt like it was the right time to unleash this take... to understand them, you need to understand that they are a type of media company: www.wired.com/story/predic...

wired.comPolymarket’s Next Bet? It Can Also Be a Media CompanyThe legal battle over whether prediction markets are a form of gambling has overshadowed something else entirely: They’re already a new form of media.
