EXCLUSIVE: Pete Hegseth wanted Gen. Dwight Eisenhower’s globe for his office. His staff broke it. The Pentagon denied us access to take photos, but we obtained some anyway. A story in global affairs: wapo.st/3WF2YQo

Easiest purchase of the week. Also if you steal the design and try to print them yourself Claude will haunt you in your dreams

Kinda seems like Mr. Musk needs to be fully relieved of all land, titles, and wealth.......and if he's not willing to do that, well.....

Brandon Friedman@brandonfriedman.bsky.social

Musk is the greatest threat to U.S. national security in at least 25 years

This is the energy we need from our dem senators. Thoughtful , direct, and spoken with conviction. I hope for our nation Mr. El-Sayed is the next senator from Michigan

Abdul El-Sayed@abdulelsayed.bsky.social

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

This is 100% what I hear everyone in my neighborhood talking about at every backyard bbq and block party. "Women could be a great nation again if we just had a heliport and a ballroom, that's whats motivating me to vote"

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "We needed a heliport. Two things they wanted at the White House. They wanted a great heliport. Very important, because we land a lot of big helicopters. The biggest. And they always wanted a ballroom."

Remember when Hunter sold a painting tho

So they want you to have this little helper bot do recurring tasks.....like the very normal recurring tasks of couch shopping or making/cancelling dinner reservations. And then if you give it access to your Gmail it will deliver even better results. Jfc we used to get tech people wanted

Dots are designed to automate online tasks, like buying furniture. In my initial experience, the always-on agent was a bit buggy and couldn’t complete a captcha.

They just don't understand how it's supposed to work. Which is not surprising as they don't really understand how anything works.

Patrick Chovanec@prchovanec.bsky.social

A couple quick observations here, which should be obvious. 1) insurance “risk pools” work by requiring younger/healthier people who make few or no claims to sign up and pay premiums alongside older/less healthy people who do, essentially covering their costs.

Yes this is a "fully functioning" elected representative.

Republicans have to instruct Mitch McConnell to vote "yes" on a bill after he nearly votes "no" with Democrats

The same people who preach about us pleebs needing to work more and raise the retirement age. Will have been at work, in Washington for 15 days in the span of 4 months. While cashing in $174k a year and have generous retirement and healthcare paid at our expense. We don't hate them enough

Jamie Dupree@jamiedupree.bsky.social

House GOP leaders cancel votes on Thursday - sending lawmakers home later today until after the elections. That means the House can avoid a vote on the Hegseth impeachment plan from Rep. Thomas Massie R-KY.

So I think investigations into this should lead to these people being left penniless. Wonder if there are any Dems out there willing to lead this charge, we sure know Jefferies wont

DR. SMARTMOUTH: "Everyone in Trump's cabinet is getting rich... Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick more than doubled from $3 billion to $7 billion... Doug Burgum $100 million to $400 million... Linda McMahon $1.8 billion to $3 billion... Trump doubled his net worth..."

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the only ideas this administration has are reality show based.

Going to irritate the crap out of them at the car dealership and walk away with the best deal ever, 60% of the time it works every time

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Rep. Rich McCormick defends Trump trying to rename Lake Ontario: "President Trump is very good at leverage. He wants to do things that irritate people who he's negotiating with so he can get a better deal."

@quigley.house.gov @duckworth.senate.gov @durbin.senate.gov this is unacceptable, your constituents are done with the government over reach please use your power to stop this regime

Did you know that the US teamed up with Panamanian Border Patrol to illegally seize the little science town of Gamboa (a famous hot spot for field biology, and our home for the past many years)? If you don't want a gringo sponsored ICE training facility in your fav science town, share this around!

This MFer would prefer tasteless tomatoes from the store. Bland, uninteresting, and without any real character. They fit him perfectly

Matt Novak@paleofuture.bsky.social

Another odd moment occurred when Musk insisted that work in the future would be "optional" because robots would do everything. Musk said people might still work in the future but compared it to people who grow their own backyard tomatoes. He said they could just go to the store for better tomatoes.

Hi Rep @quigley.house.gov, please correct me if I am wrong but this seems to be a very clear, impeachable offense. You could introduce the resolution tomorrow and force a vote under rule IX. If they are doing this to CA and MN today, IL could be next.

They found.....a significant number.....of burn bags.......that WERE..... used to destroy information?? But they found them? The bags? That were......burned? To destroy?? Information???

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Recently we found significant numbers of burn bags in formation. And this is a group of -- bags that were used to destroy -- information"

Trump calls for sending federal troops into cities: "I'd love to do Chicago because Chicago is potentially great city. But you're gonna lose it. It's gotta be done. I'd love to do it in Los Angeles. I'd love to do it in NYC. We remove the bad people from those cities so they never come back"

Would SOMEONE please think of the poor oil and gas industry folks, they are barely scraping by

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

BLUMENTHAL: Suspending the gas tax ought to be combined with a big oil windfall profits tax. As you well know, big oil is raking in bonanza profits. Shell just announced a $7b profit last quarter. Would you support that? CHRIS WRIGHT: Ah. The oil and gas industry has had a rough couple decades.

But we have seen it flow like it will once it's reopened. It was doing so until they decided to bomb Iran, do they really think people are this fucking stupid

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

HASSETT: People vote their wallets. I don't really trust surveys VARNEY: But you gotta look at the numbers. I mean, you got an average of regular of $4.35 a gallon. That hits voters hard. How long will it take? H: As soon as we get the strait open, oil is gonna flow like you've never seen before

Incredible thread. I'm a Catholic in the sense that I was born into it, went to Catholic school through highschool but am not really "religious." Wasn't aware of the "trad cath" weirdos until the last few years, what a bizarro version of Catholicism they practice and preach also

Prediction markets on Congress passing a bill, government decisions, or a military strike, are ripe for corruption. Too many insiders can bet knowing the plans, or can steer the outcome to win the bet. We need to stop this corrupt trading!

200 billion for a war, thats not a war, that they definitely don't need congressional approval for, that will be over in 3 days. But student loan forgiveness was unconstitutional, ok.....

The Tennessee Holler @thetnholler.bsky.social

Hegseth confirms they want another $200,000,000,000 for a war nobody here really wants or understands. Insanity. (While blaming Biden) We are completely off the rails. 🇺🇸

They lack even an ounce of self awareness, it's kinda wild.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Hegseth: "Iran should be an energy-rich country. Instead, like so many other places driven by a radical ideology, they've spend that money, instead of investing in their people. That's why you had millions of Iranians protesting."

Paging @quigley.house.gov @durbin.senate.gov @duckworth.senate.gov sounds like you should be beating the drum for "confinement for life" for SecDef.........unless you think there is no need for the rule of law any longer

✋ Former USG war crimes lawyer here. Apropos of SecDef's remarks this morning: Denial of quarter—even the declaration of no quarter—is a war crime. And recognized as such by the US Government. From DoD's Manual for Military Commissions.

Koentz reposted

The killing of Iranian children during an illegal war is an impeachable offense (not to mention a grave crime) and Congress should really act like it. 15 Republicans in the Senate could end this nightmare before it somehow gets even worse.

DOOCY: On Prince Andrew, do you think American associates of Jeffrey Epstein will wind up in handcuffs too? TRUMP: I'm the expert in a way because I've been totally exonerated. That's very nice. I can actually speak about it very nicely. I think it's a shame. I did nothing.

again we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are his net worth is $253.2 billion. so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire and then do it again tomorrow and again the day after that and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months
